Entry Level IT Support Engineers are professionals who provide technical assistance and support to users experiencing computer, software, or network issues. They typically troubleshoot problems, install and configure hardware and software, and help maintain IT systems for organizations. These roles are usually suited for individuals at the beginning of their IT careers and often serve as a stepping stone to more advanced positions in information technology. Good communication skills, a basic understanding of IT systems, and a willingness to learn are important for success in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level IT support engineer?

To thrive as an Entry Level IT Support Engineer, you need foundational knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking basics, and often a relevant degree or certification such as CompTIA A+. Familiarity with ticketing systems, remote desktop tools, and troubleshooting software is typically required. Job description

Company Overview

Lease End is a fast-growing fintech company on a simple mission: be the most loving end-of-lease experience for drivers.

Traditionally, finishing a lease means dealership visits, confusing paperwork, fees, and a lot of wasted time. We built Lease End so drivers can handle their buyout from home in minutes instead of weeks— with clear options and better financing.

And our driver-first approach is working! Lease End has helped tens of thousands of drivers save tens of millions of dollars in fees by facilitating hundreds of millions in vehicle loans through trusted banking partners.

We’ve also been recognized nationally, including ranking on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies and earning a BBB Spark Award for innovation.

We’re a group that cares about doing solid work, improving things that are broken, and making complicated experiences feel simple and surprisingly easy. And if that resonates with you

Job Description

We’re looking for an IT support engineer with a few years experience to help our teams across a variety of tech support needs related to desktops/laptops, phone systems, a/v systems, printers, faxes, employee onboarding & offboarding, and maintaining equipment inventories. Do you love tech and enjoy tinkering with hardware? Do you love helping people out? If so, we have a great team for you to work with.

This position will work out of our Lehi, UT location. You’ll primarily need to provide IT support to our offices there, but there will be occasional need to travel to our offices in Burley, ID and Twin Falls, ID. You’ll need to respond to requests for support and be the first line of defense for troubleshooting issues and helping people out. We work with a separate company that can back you up for more challenging issues.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor requests for support (via Slack) and promptly response with acknowledgement and work to resolve the issue or elevate it.
  • Keep track of outstanding support requests (we have software to help you with this) and make sure they get resolved in a timely manner - communicate updates as needed.
  • Support both Apple (primarily) and Windows desktops/laptops.
  • Configure & support issues with printers, fax machines and A/V equipment.
  • Support our phone systems which primarily consist of both softphones and SIP hard phones.
  • Help with setup of networks as needed (you’ll have some senior support for this)
  • Onboard employees - get their laptops setup, install software, setup various access accounts, configure them on our workforce identify provider (Okta), and perform other related onboarding tasks.
  • Offboard employees - when someone leaves the company, you’ll need to remove their access to various accounts and generally reverse the onboarding process.
  • Maintain an inventory of company hardware.
Qualifications
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with MacOS (we are mainly an Apple shop) & Windows desktops and laptops.
  • Familiarity configuring and troubleshooting issues with printers, fax machines, scanners, and A/V equipment.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn how to support SIP soft and hard phones.
  • Must have a sense of urgency and willingness to quickly respond to requests for help.
  • Be detail oriented to properly track requests for help and manage them to completion.
  • Must have good communication skills and enjoy working with and serving other people.
  • Be naturally curious about technology, how systems works, and enjoy troubleshooting issues.
  • Ability to research (using online resources) and find answers to support questions.

This job is primarily M-F, but there may be instances where you will need to respond to an urgent need over the weekend.
