Summary:The Human Resources team support Sorenson Engineering by delivering proactive, responsive, and strategic people practices. This role manages day-to-day HR functions with a focus on employee support, compliance, and continuous improvement. Works closely with management to develop and maintain a high-performance workplace culture grounded in professionalism, accountability, and respect. This position is in-person only and requires consistent presence to serve the needs of employees and leadership.

Level I: Entry-level: administers general HR procedures and supports onboarding, employee file maintenance, and employee inquiries.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supports the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, performance reviews, employee relations, and offboarding.
  • Maintains accurate HR records, data entry and reporting.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws including but not limited to wage & hour, benefits, leaves of absence, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Addresses employee relations issues promptly and professionally.
  • Assists with payroll, benefits administration, and compensation reviews.
  • Participates in HR audits, compliance activities, and internal initiatives (e.g., training).
  • Maintains and communicates the employee handbook, company policies, and procedures.
  • Oversees and supports timekeeping systems and ensures compliance with wage and hour regulations.artners with safety and facilities teams to support workplace safety initiatives.
  • Maintain exemplary attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct.
  • Operates fully on-site and provides in-person support across all departments.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of HR best practices and employment law
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS/ATS platforms
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Education and Experience:

  • Must occasionally exert push force up to 20 pounds
