The Lake County Information Technology Office is accepting applications for:
IT Computer Support Specialist I
DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the IT Director, the IT Computer Support Specialist I provides first-level technical support to County employees with a strong emphasis on customer service, professionalism, and effective communication. This position supports daily IT operations by assisting users with hardware, software, and basic network issues, while also performing general receptionist and administrative duties, including preparing claims and supporting departmental operational functions. The role fosters positive working relationships and promotes user confidence in County technology services.
QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred one (1) year of customer service, administrative support, or user support (in person, phone, email, or ticketing system); knowledge of common operating systems, software applications, and desktop tools used in a professional office environment; Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, email, and internet-based tools; Basic networking concepts, including workstation connectivity, printers, and peripheral devices; Entry-level PC and software troubleshooting techniques; Customer service principles, including effective communication with non-technical users; General office practices and procedures, including receptionist functions, phone etiquette, filing, and records management; Proficient in written communication standards, including grammar and spelling; Information security and confidentiality principles related to handling sensitive and restricted information; Use of standard office equipment such as phones, copiers, scanners, and fax machines
HOURS/DAYS: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m./M-F.
WAGE: $20.00/hourly
