Job description

IT Network/Infrastructure Internship What we are looking for: Gelber Group is looking for a motivated candidate to join its Network and Infrastructure team for summer 2013. We are looking for someone with a graduating year of 2013 or 2014, and a major in CIS, MIS, CS, or related areas. This candidate will work closely with members of the team and other IT and trading groups.

Candidates should have an interest or experience with: - Computer networking (Ethernet, TCP/IP, LANs, WANS, etc) - General computer knowledge - System engineering (switches, routers, firewalls, servers) - Various operating systems (Linux, Windows, etc) - Network monitoring/management systems and technologies - Network protocols (PIM, OSPF, BGP, NAT, RSTP, VPN, etc) What we would like you to have: - Positive attitude - Fluent typing skills - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Work well in a group and individually - Effectively prioritize tasks in high-pressure situations - Attention to detail More on the internship: The internship will begin with a 2-3 week collaborative classroom session where you will learn the basics of liquid capital markets trading, the various ways in which Gelber engages these markets, and the tools and technology that link us to the markets. After the classroom you will be working closely with the Network and Infrastructure team to assist in various projects such as developing and supporting tools for monitoring. Gelber Group's internship will give you great hands on experience understanding and learning the latest network technologies in the market and the evolution of networks.
