Title:

Systems Administrator

KBR's Mission Engineering Division delivers complex technical solutions and expert support to the U.S. Department of Defense, specializing in modeling and simulation, cyber transformation, air vehicle mission integration, and lifecycle support. We're seeking a Systems Administrator to join our growing CuXS program to support secure test and lab environments. In this role, you'll serve as a handson systems administrator with a strong focus on networked environments, supporting system integration, testing, cybersecurity compliance, and daytoday operations in a classified DoD setting. You'll work side by side with engineers and technical teams to support integrated systems and network operations in support of mission and test activities. The primary worksite for this role is St. Inigoes / Webster Field / Lexington Park, MD, with required CONUS and OCONUS travel (approximately 25-40%) in support of system installations, testing activities, and mission tasking.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain classified LAN/WAN networked systems and environments supporting lab and test operations
  • Serve as the primary administrator for networkcentric system components, including switches, routers, firewalls, and connected server infrastructure
  • Perform daytoday system administration for Windows and Linux systems operating within secure, segmented network environments
  • Support system and network integration for new hardware, software, test events, and lab upgrades
  • Apply and maintain operating system and network security configurations in accordance with DoD STIGs and cybersecurity requirements
  • Support cybersecurity and accreditation activities (IATT/ATO) by providing system and network configuration documentation, artifacts, and technical input
  • Monitor system and network health, troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues, and coordinate resolution to support mission execution
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
  • Work closely with engineers, IT staff, cybersecurity teams, and government users to support operational needs and scheduled test activities
  • Travel CONUS and OCONUS to support system deployments, site surveys, testing events, and operational mission requirements. Participate in system installs, patching cycles, maintenance windows, and test preparations as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen with an active/current Secret Clearance.
  • Edu & Years of Exp: BS/BA from an accredited US institution & 5 years of experience
  • IAT Level II or higher certification (DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant), such as CompTIA Security+ CE, CySA+, GSEC, SSCP (IAT II), or higherlevel certifications, including CEH, CASP+, or CISSP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Webster Field and NAS Patuxent River RDT&E network infrastructure
  • Cisco Certifications: CCST Networking, CCST Cybersecurity, CCNA, or CCNP.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio. Experience with wireless or microwave point-to-point networking. Experience with IPSEC VPN and L2TP. Familiarity with Linux - RHEL, SUNOS systems.
  • Current U.S. Passport

Travel: 25% to 40% (CONUS and OCONUS)

Work Setting: On Site

Compensation:$95,000-$140,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity. #LI-KW1
