Job description

Overview

Nakupuna Consulting is seeking to hire a Network Technician to support military customers in Jacksonville, North Carolina and Havelock, North Carolina with additional travel locations within the United States. Nakupuna Solutions supports the US Marine Corps with engineering, furnishing, installing, securing, testing (EFIST) and making operational a modern network infrastructure by providing all equipment, labor, training, software, firmware, licenses, power, interfaces, and documentation to make our solutions truly turnkey. 

The Network Technician will be responsible for the implementation of networking hardware for the creative, innovative, and thoughtful technical solutions for Nakupuna Solutions client base. The Network Technician will work hand in hand with other technicians, engineers and the Lead Systems Engineers to execute accepted solutions with new and existing clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support verification site surveys at government installations within the United States in order to identify and document the current network infrastructure installed to ensure the technical solution meets the customer requirement
  • Support the Senior Network/Communications Engineers in implementing the technical solutions for new and existing clients
  • Provide feedback to the Senior Network/Communications Engineers on improvements to the technical solutions being implemented
  • Maintain accurate inventory and documentation for network infrastructure installations
  • Understanding of networking technologies, topologies, and protocols. (TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLANs, Ethernet)
  • Hands-on experience in implementing, operating and troubleshooting IP-based Data networks (LAN/WAN/MAN) using Cisco IOS 
  • Strong desire to learn and contribute solutions and ideas to a broad team
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, ambiguous and often multi-directional work environments 
Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: Self-Motivated, Problem Solving, Multi-tasking. Must hold a valid driver's license.

Education and Experience: 1 year experience in networking. Cisco CCST Certification is desired.

Clearance Requirements: This position requires an active Secret Security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Location: Must be willing to travel and work in any government installation in the United States. Travel may be 20% or more. 

Physical Requirements:

The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Frequently lift and/or move parts up to 40lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move parts up to 50lbs.
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for the majority of working hours.
