Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Technical Instructor. The Technical Instructor delivers highquality, engaging training aligned to the CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certification objectives. This role supports adult learners of diverse backgrounds, helping them build foundational IT networking and cybersecurity skills needed for career advancement. The instructor creates an inclusive learning environment, provides guidance, and ensures learners are wellprepared for certification exams and realworld application.

This position is located in Washington D.C.

  • Deliver instructorled in-person training covering the full CompTIA Network+ and Security+ curricula.
  • Present complex networking and cybersecurity concepts in a clear, accessible manner suited for adult learners.
  • Assess learner progress through quizzes, practical exercises, and examreadiness evaluations.
  • Provide individualized support, tutoring, and feedback to help learners succeed.
  • Maintain instructional materials, update content, and align teaching with current exam domains and industry best practices.
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom culture that encourages participation and critical thinking.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, cybersecurity threats, and best practices relevant to the instruction areas.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible content suitable for a wide range of learners.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to ensure accuracy and relevance of training content.
  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with varying priorities.
  • Produce professional deliverables using Microsoft Office suite.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Min 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, 3 years with PhD, 12 years with HS diploma
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a Presidential Support Duty (PSD) designation.
  • Active CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications.
  • Background in IT operations, network administration, or cybersecurity roles.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with SMEs and cross-functional teams.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience teaching or training adult learners in technical subjects.
  • Strong handson experience with networking fundamentals (routing, switching, protocols, troubleshooting) and security principles (risk management, access control, threats, defensive strategies).
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to learners with varying levels of experience.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Comfort with delivering training using digital platforms, remote tools, and lab environments.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMSs) and training evaluation frameworks.
  • Preferred certifications: A certification in instructional delivery or equivalent military trainer certification course (CompTIA CTT+, ATD APTD/CPTD, etc.).

Target Salary Range$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
