Job Summary

The Structural Design Intern will contribute to the drafting and design of diverse engineering projects, encompassing both residential and commercial structures. Beyond active project involvement, the Structural Design Intern will assist in the development of master engineering documents, templates, and efficiency-enhancing tools. This role offers the opportunity to cultivate personal, technical, and professional competencies while supporting the team's overall productivity and design excellence.

  • Responsibilities
  • Draft and design engineering construction documents for custom homes, production homes, remodels, and other projects
  • Completion of a semester long project that will be used in daily design operations of the company
  • Conduct comprehensive wind load assessments for various projects
  • Execute comprehensive projectspecific structural analysis and calculations
  • Attend site visits and adeptly translate existing structures into comprehensive engineering plans
  • Attend various networking, volunteer, and industry events in a professional manner

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering at an ABET accredited school
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be eligible to live and work in the United States
  • Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (Revit experience is a plus)
  • Ability to translate asbuilt conditions to CAD details
  • Understanding of basic calculations and using spreadsheets
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF software
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks at once
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
