Brown & Brown is seeking a hands-on Cloud Platform Engineering Leader to help scale and modernize our enterprise cloud platform. This role will lead a team of cloud engineers responsible for building secure, scalable, and automated cloud capabilities across Azure.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong engineering leadership experience and is passionate about platform engineering, infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, and cloud enablement. This leader will partner closely with architects, application teams, security, and executive leadership to accelerate adoption of standardized cloud platforms, CI/CD practices, and self-service infrastructure capabilities.
This role will play a key part in standardizing and scaling cloud engineering capabilities across a large enterprise environment. Depending on organizational priorities and candidate experience, the scope of this role may span Cloud Platform Engineering, Cloud Automation & Enablement, Governance, or related cloud engineering functions.
How You Will Contribute:
Core Platform Engineering Leadership
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of 4-6 cloud engineers focused on cloud platform engineering, automation, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a hands-on technical leader contributing to architecture, engineering, troubleshooting, automation, and operational improvements.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of enterprise Azure cloud platform capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules, standardized deployment patterns, and automation frameworks. Promote platform engineering principles focused on standardization, self-service, automation, and developer enablement.
  • Partner with application and development teams to enable adoption of CI/CD pipelines, self-service infrastructure provisioning, and cloud engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with architects, security, networking, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant cloud solutions.

Cloud Automation & Enablement
  • Drive cloud automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code, policy-as-code, and CI/CD tooling.
  • Develop standardized cloud platform services, golden paths, and deployment templates to improve consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Enable application teams to consume approved cloud services, deployment templates, and CI/CD capabilities through standardized engineering practices
  • Support enterprise cloud transformation initiatives focused on standardization, automation, governance, and operational maturity

Skills and Experience to be Successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, cloud engineering, or platform engineering roles.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing or mentoring technical engineering teams.
  • Strong recent hands-on experience designing and supporting Azure cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or similar).
  • Experience implementing or supporting CI/CD platforms and automation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking, identity, security, monitoring, and governance capabilities.
  • Experience driving cloud standardization, automation, and operational maturity initiatives.
  • Azure certifications or equivalent practical experience (preferred)
