Job description

As a Chemical Engineering Manager here at Honeywell LNG, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing a portion of the process engineering team. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of LNG process technologies, chemical processes, and engineered solutions. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to ensure the successful execution of studies, proposals, projects, technology initiatives, and customer engagements. The Chemical Engineering Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development, technology advancement, process optimization, and continuous improvement.

You will report directly to our Senior Chemical Engineering Manager and work out of our Allentown, PA location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact Honeywell LNG by driving technical excellence, process innovation, operational efficiency, process safety leadership, and customer-focused solutions in LNG Process Technology. You will help shape and execute next-generation liquefaction technologies while ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables and successful project execution. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to business growth, customer satisfaction, competitive differentiation, and the successful commercialization of Honeywell LNG technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage a portion of the LNG Process Engineering organization, including setting goals, defining priorities, and aligning technical execution with business objectives.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and career development for process engineers to strengthen technical capabilities and support succession planning.
  • Support business development activities, feasibility studies, FEED projects, proposals, customer presentations, and project execution efforts.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Projects, Proposals, Commercial, and Manufacturing teams to develop competitive and differentiated LNG offerings.
  • Develop resource plans, forecast workload demand, allocate engineering resources, and monitor utilization to support business and project requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, EPC contractors, and key stakeholders, serving as a trusted technical advisor and representative of Honeywell LNG technology.
  • Support intellectual property development by identifying innovative concepts, protecting proprietary technologies, and contributing to patent reviews and filings where applicable.
  • Stay current with market trends, industry developments, emerging LNG technologies, sustainability initiatives, and competitive offerings.
  • Domestic and international travel to client offices, contractor locations, and plant sites is expected approximately 10-15% of the time.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 7+ years of experience in chemical, process, or LNG engineering.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in process engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex projects.
  • Knowledge of process simulation and engineering software.
  • Experience supporting customers, EPC contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
