The Position: We are looking for a candidate who will be performing the role of Documentation Specialist, supporting the Utility Helicopter Project Office (UHPO).

The Location: Redstone Arsenal, AL

The Work Environment: On-Site

The Description:

The Documentation Specialist will be a key member of the Logistics Management Division, providing critical support to the Utility Helicopters Project Office. This role is central to ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all logistics-related documentation throughout the system's lifecycle.

Duties Include:

  • Develop, update, and maintain essential logistics documentation including the Lifecycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP) and required LCSP annexes. Additional documentation required may include but are not limited to Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Depot Maintenance Support Plan (DMSP), Item Unique Identification (IUID) plans, and Transition to Sustainment (T2S) documents.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation packages and briefing materials for formal program milestones and Sustainment Reviews.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the staffing and review of logistics documents with a wide range of internal and external organizations, ensuring all stakeholder feedback is incorporated.
  • Track and manage document versions, revisions, and approvals using established configuration management processes.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to stringent Department of War (DoW), Department of the Army (DA) and defense acquisition regulations and standards.
  • Assist in the analysis and integration of logistics requirements into program and design specifications.

Education & Experience:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance, required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with at least eight (8) years of related experience.
    • ALLOWABLE SUBSITIUTIONS:
      • PhD with four (4) years of related experience.
      • Masters's degree with six (6) years of related experience.
      • Associate's degree with ten (10) years of related experience.
      • High School Diploma/GED with twelve (12) years of related experience.
    • Strong background in logistics management and technical documentation within the defense acquisition community.
    • Experience developing, writing, and editing technical and logistics documentation for DoD acquisition programs.
    • Proven ability to interpret and apply DoD instructions and standards to program documentation.
    • Experience coordinating with diverse teams, including engineering, finance, and program management, to gather information and facilitate document reviews.
    • Familiarity with the structure and content requirements of key acquisition documents, such as the Lifecycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP).
    • Hands-on experience with document management systems and collaboration tools.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality control.
    • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

  • Familiarity with defense acquisition terminology and the roles of various DoD logistics and materiel commands.
