Salary Information: $100,000 - $120,000 per year

Description

Altus Technology Solutions is seeking an Engineering Support Specialist to provide engineering and technical support to Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD). This role supports engineering design, documentation, analysis, and technical program execution across energetics development and manufacturing efforts.

The Engineering Support Specialist will assist in engineering design, technical documentation, and analysis efforts supporting a variety of energetic materials projects. This position requires the ability to support engineering functions and collaborate with technical teams in a structured program environment.

This role is critical to supporting engineering operations by assisting with technical documentation, analysis, and coordination of engineering activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering design functions for energetic materials manufacturing projects
  • Develop technical documentation including drawings, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality production plans, and technical working documents
  • Perform blast analysis for safety, protective engineering, and weapons system validation
  • Assist with analysis of test results, data entry, and basic statistical analysis
  • Perform design, development, analysis, manufacturing, and in-service engineering functions across energetic projects
  • Provide technical subject matter support in energetics design, development, manufacturing, and in-service engineering
  • Create and maintain non-controlled documentation, transcription of documents, and data entry
  • Develop management support documentation such as PERT and GANTT charts
  • Create and manage technical data packages (TDPs), budgets, programmatic, and administrative documentation
  • Interact with project managers, supervisors, and civilian technical personnel
  • Maintain records, files, and revision tracking for all technical documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational objectives

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance (Must have interim clearance before start date)
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience supporting engineering or technical programs
  • Experience with documentation, analysis, and reporting

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting energetics, ammunition, explosives, or defense programs
  • Experience working at NSWC Indian Head or similar DoD environments
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation and technical data packages
  • Experience supporting engineering design, testing, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience supporting government contracts or technical programs
