Job description

Engineering Support Specialist

Rochester Hills, MI

We are seeking a highly organized Engineering Support Specialist to support engineering and supplier-related activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will work closely with engineering teams and suppliers to track project activities, maintain technical documentation, and support daily operational needs.

The ideal candidate will possess strong Microsoft Excel skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to understand technical drawings and engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including creating and maintaining complex tracking spreadsheets and reports
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Ability to coordinate with suppliers and internal engineering teams to obtain information and resolve issues
• Mechanical or technical background preferred
• Automotive industry experience is a plus
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and manage engineering tracking spreadsheets and project documentation
• Communicate with suppliers regarding technical questions, status updates, and documentation requests
• Support engineering teams by gathering, organizing, and tracking project information
• Review engineering drawings and technical documents to assist with project coordination activities
• Monitor project milestones, action items, and deliverables
• Maintain accurate records and documentation within company systems
• Assist with data analysis, reporting, and administrative support for engineering projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of engineering and supplier-related activities
