Engineering Change Management Specialist

Location: Fremont, CA (Onsite โ€“ 5 Days/Week)

Duration: 2-Year Contract with possible extensions or C2H

Pay Rate: Up to $39.35/hour


Position Summary

We are seeking an Engineering Change Management Specialist to support engineering change control, documentation management, and product lifecycle processes within a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment. This role will be responsible for managing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), product documentation, bill of materials (BOMs), and change implementation activities while collaborating with engineering, program management, and manufacturing teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience with CAD and PLM systems, strong change management knowledge, and exceptional organizational and communication skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and change control activities from initiation through closure.
  • Review engineering documentation, assemblies, and part records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with change control procedures.
  • Support product lifecycle management (PLM) processes and configuration management activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, manufacturing, and program management teams to implement product changes.
  • Process part numbers, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation updates.
  • Track engineering documents through approval workflows and release processes.
  • Monitor change implementation schedules and coordinate priorities across stakeholders.
  • Generate reports, metrics, and status updates related to engineering changes and documentation activities.
  • Support ISO documentation requirements, revisions, releases, and record maintenance.
  • Update engineering drawings and specifications based on approved design changes.
  • Facilitate design review meetings and coordinate follow-up actions.
  • Capture meeting minutes, action items, decisions, and project updates.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to change management and documentation processes.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting engineering change management, configuration management, or document control processes.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and engineering documentation practices.
  • Strong understanding of bills of materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and revision control.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, reporting, and data analysis).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PLM systems such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, Agile, or similar platforms.
  • Experience using CAD tools such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with SAP or ERP systems.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering documentation, and configuration control best practices.
