Environmental Health & Safety, EHS, Safety Specialist, OSHA, MIOSHA, Manufacturing, Automotive, Industrial Safety, Workers' Compensation, Incident Investigation, Root Cause Analysis, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, PPE, Safety Training, Continuous Improvement.



The EHS Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Environmental, Health & Safety programs that ensure compliance with OSHA/MIOSHA regulations while supporting a safe and productive manufacturing environment.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role requiring daily interaction with employees, supervisors, and leadership.


What You'll Do

  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Investigate workplace injuries, incidents, and near misses.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Manage PPE programs, inventory, and supplier coordination.
  • Coordinate employee safety training and new hire orientation.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and required safety documentation.
  • Support workers' compensation and return-to-work programs.
  • Partner with Operations to eliminate hazards and improve workplace safety.
  • Participate in customer, internal, and regulatory audits.
  • Track safety KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA/MIOSHA regulations.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Experience delivering employee safety training.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Union manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • ASP or CSP certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
