Job Summary
The Quality Engineer I is responsible for designing, developing, and sustaining quality processes and inspection methods, including procedures, gauging, programming, and documentation. This role collaborates with Quality Control, Product Development, and Manufacturing Operations to support daily production, projects, and site initiatives. The position ensures compliance with internal and external medical device industry standards and regulations. Candidates should demonstrate eagerness to learn, strong communication skills, technical proficiency in common software systems, and attention to detail. Experience in statistical analysis, software development, and familiarity with Tulip, Jira, and Agile methodology is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop inspection techniques and procedures to ensure product integrity.
- Write, approve, and implement Receiving, Floor, and Final Inspection procedures.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers and Metrology Lab personnel on gauging and templates.
- Coordinate and execute development of quality processes, including work instructions and test methods.
- Train Manufacturing Associates in measurement, testing, and inspection techniques.
- Perform first article inspections, capability studies, process validations, and metallurgical analyses.
- Work with suppliers, engineers, and associates to resolve quality issues, including NCRs, material dispositions, and data analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering/Technical discipline.
- 0–2 years of experience in a technical or manufacturing role preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, and Minitab.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green Belt.
- Experience with Tulip, Jira, and Agile methodology.
