Their goal is to promote fair resolutions without the need for lengthy investigations or litigation. EEOC Mediators use conflict resolution techniques to encourage open communication and compromise.
To thrive as an EEOC Mediator, you need a strong background in conflict resolution, employment law, and investigative techniques, often supported by a relevant bachelor’s or advanced degree. Familiarity with EEOC case management systems and mediation certification, such as those provided by recognized alternative dispute resolution organizations, is highly beneficial. Exceptional interpersonal skills, impartiality, and the ability to maintain confidentiality set top candidates apart. These competencies are crucial for effectively facilitating resolution between parties while ensuring fairness and adherence to federal employment regulations.
