DPS is now hiring a Remote Fair Employment Practices Specialist for a Hospital Facility in Houston, TX.

Remote Fair Employment Practices Specialist Job Details:

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm

Location: Remote (Houston, TX)

Starting Pay Rate: $45.00/ hour + (based on experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex investigations related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, Title IX, EEO, and other civil rights matters
  • Interview witnesses, gather and analyze evidence, assess credibility, and prepare investigative findings and reports
  • Prepare position statements and responses for regulatory agencies, including EEOC and TWC
  • Represent the organization during mediations, settlement discussions, and regulatory proceedings
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, regulations, and institutional policies
  • Provide guidance and consultation to leadership, HR Business Partners, legal counsel, and department management on employee relations and compliance matters
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training programs related to equal employment opportunity and regulatory compliance
  • Manage assigned regulatory compliance programs and monitor ongoing compliance efforts
  • Analyze institutional processes, policies, and practices to identify risks and recommend solutions
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement, legal teams, and regulatory agencies
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide recommendations regarding compliance requirements
  • Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and organizational information
  • Support strategic initiatives related to employee relations, workplace investigations, and risk mitigation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Bilingual skills preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in employee relations, HR compliance, workplace investigations, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of investigative experience involving Title IX, EEO, EEOC, discrimination, harassment, or retaliation matters preferred
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, Title IX, ADA, ADEA, Section 504, Clery Act, VAWA, and related regulations
  • Experience preparing responses for regulatory agencies and participating in mediations or settlement negotiations preferred
  • Experience developing compliance policies, procedures, and training programs preferred
  • Strong analytical, investigative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation abilities
  • Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels
  • PHR, SPHR, or Mediator Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of Clery regulations and Annual Security Report preparation preferred
