Description

The Day Program DSP will assist the ISS Supervisor/Manager with individual care at the facility based on the policies, procedures, and quality of service required.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Directs personal assistance with daily living activities of individuals (grooming, eating, and personal hygiene)
  • Reinforces counseling and therapy activities as directed by Supervisor.
  • Ensures the health and safety of all individuals by identifying and correcting safety hazards
  • Provides assistance with medications and performs tasks delegated by a Registered Nurse
  • Documents incidents involving individuals at the facility
  • Provides daily reports to the Supervisor that outline accomplishments and objectives met daily
  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere conducive to the habilitation of the individuals served
  • Responsible for cleanliness of facility including cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, sitting rooms and kitchen
  • Maintains regular attendance and timeliness in duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Good communication skills?
  • Knowledge of the HCS and MRLA programs?
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Minimum of 1 year with individuals with developmental disabilities
