Optimus Courier is a growing Courier company based in Eagan, MN. We have a fleet of 50+ vehicles on the road at any given day. We are looking for an experienced and qualified Driver Manager/Dispatcher who is able self-motivate, think independently and can motivate others. Candidate must be a problem solver, a self-starter, and a team player. If you love fast-paced environment, fun atmosphere and company that you can make a difference in you are in the right place. This position requires you to wear multiple hats. Coordinate and manage driver safety program, Fleet maintenance, and most importantly, communicating with all layers of the company to ensure safety is always kept as a priority.

Job Description

The Weekend Driver Manager will oversee driver safety, monitor delivery performance, onboard and train new drivers, and coordinate all aspects of fleet readiness and maintenance. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance people management with the technical and logistical demands of courier service operations.

Key Responsibilities

Driver Management & Performance

  • Supervise and support delivery drivers to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.
  • Monitor performance metrics (on-time rate, route completion, customer feedback) and implement improvement plans.
  • Coordinate Ride-along, driver check-ins, and regular performance reviews.
  • Provide coaching, address driver concerns, and promote a positive work culture.

Safety & Training

  • Enforce driver safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide hands-on training for new drivers, including company policies, delivery procedures, and customer service.
  • Conduct ongoing safety meetings, toolbox talks, and incident reviews.

Administrative & Compliance

  • Maintain driver schedules, route assignments, and training records.
  • Document performance, incidents, inspections, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Recruiter on hiring and onboarding new drivers.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision; comfortable making high-stakes decisions in real-time.
  • Strong history of reliability, including punctuality and consistent accuracy in data entry and log maintenance.
  • Demonstrated self-starter mentality actively identifies inefficiencies in routes/schedules and proposes solutions without being prompted.
  • Experience in people management, delivery operations, or fleet management preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and assist with deliveries if required.
