North Rose-Wolcott Central School District is currently seeking qualified candidates to serve as a Part Time Driver Education Instructor for the 2026-27 school year.
We are looking for individuals who are committed to student safety, strong instruction, and helping young drivers build the skills they need to be responsible and confident on the road.
Qualifications:You must hold a valid NYS teaching certificate, a valid NYS driver license, and obtain an MV-283 card (Driver and Traffic Safety Education - DTSE certification).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the NYSED-approved Driver & Traffic Safety Education curriculum, including both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction
- Provide safe, structured, and developmentally appropriate driving experiences focused on vehicle operation, defensive driving, and hazard awareness
- Monitor and assess student progress, including maintaining accurate attendance and instructional hour records
- Communicate clearly with families and program administrators regarding expectations, progress, and safety guidelines
- Ensure all vehicle safety protocols are followed, including reporting any maintenance concerns
- Collaborate with program leadership to support scheduling, student needs, and program compliance
Position Details:
- Location: North Rose-Wolcott Central School District
- Students are required to complete 24 hours of classroom instruction and 24 hours of in-car instruction.These hours can be scheduled flexibly as long as all New York State requirements are met.
