Job description

The Operations Supervisorโ€™s primary responsibility is to ensure all route drivers and delivery drivers are equipped with the proper tools for their daily route, their respective vehicle is ready for service and properly stocked prior to departure, for daily service and work order completion by all drivers shifted and completion in an efficient manner inline with Texas Johnsโ€™ standards.

The Operations Supervisor will work in close coordination with both the Dispatcher, Operations Manager and Customer Service departments to ensure drivers have all the current information, resolution of issues are taken care of throughout the day, overseeing daily work hours and scheduling of man power as need for routes and upcoming events.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct daily work tasks for service and delivery drivers.
  • Ensure all drivers are prepared for their daily work activities.
  • Oversee morning โ€œlaunchโ€ of all drivers.
  • Manager drivers though out the day.
  • Resolve driver issues as they arise.
  • Manage yard equipment inventory quantities and manage yard material supplies.
  • Manage pre-trip inspections, preventative maintenance, and vehicle maintenance requests.
  • Complete daily and weekly reports as requested by Management.
  • Manage route and work order completion daily.
  • Oversee service issues, resolve service issues, discipline as necessary.
  • Daily โ€œlook backโ€ of service issues โ€“ resolve prior service days issues as needed.
  • Manage driver hours and output of work.
  • Manage flex drivers to assist in problem areas and ensure all daily work order and services are completed.
  • Monitor driverโ€™s weekly hours to minimize over time.
  • Schedule staff for weekend work as needed.
  • Ensure service drivers are cleaning units to Texas Johnsโ€™ standards by auditing a minimum of two service routes weekly.
  • As needed during high demand periods, the operations supervisor may need to assist field operations to complete the daily work.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient with Computers, Microsoft applications and phones systems.
  • Knowledge of routing and route optimization processes.
  • Friendly attitude and โ€œlistening earโ€
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • One year experience minimum in routing and route driving.


Working Conditions

  • Job requires person to sit in an office environment. Position hours are M-F and some weekends as needed. Occasionally, a shift will run long into the evening hours.
  • Driving will be required.
  • Working in the field occasionally will be required.


Physical Requirements

  • Position requires person to sit in an office environment for extended times.
  • Position requires person to have ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • Position requires person to work in hot and cold environments during outside work activities.
