Job description

Documentation Specialists- Downers Grove, IL 

Location: On-Site, Downers Grove, IL 

Schedule: M-F 9AM-5PM

Pay rate: $19-$23/Hour Based on Experience  

As a Documentation Specialist, the candidate will be part of our R&D and Commercialization Team, helping bring all the specifications and processing instruction documentation to the latest template to ensure the rest of the organization knows how to make products and what it should like. 

Duties:

  • Gather raw data from team members and compile accurate final product specifications.

  • Transfer existing formula and ingredient data accurately into the latest company templates.

  • Document step-by-step manufacturing processes, equipment parameters, and production procedures using standardized templates.

  • Collaborate with R&D scientists to capture and document precise processing instructions, including blend times, temperatures, and other critical parameters.

  • Maintain strict version control of formulas, product specifications, and processing documentation throughout the development process.

  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, organized, and consistent with established company standards.

  •  

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; educational background in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field is a plus.

  • Previous experience with R&D documentation, product specifications, recipe scale-ups, or similar technical documentation is preferred.

  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong data-entry, basic math, and technical formatting skills.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including the ability to work with and update structured corporate templates.

  • Ability to accurately organize technical information and maintain detailed documentation.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with R&D and cross-functional team members.
