Job Description: Dispatch/Document Control

Location: 9370 Madison Blvd, Madison, AL 35758

Department: Operations Job Status: Full-Time Reports to: Shift Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

The position is responsible for dispatching and/or document controlling our drivers in/out of one of our Carter LOGISTEED Express locations as well as processing all delivered paperwork for Carter LOGISTEED Express. Responsibilities include ensuring drivers have all necessary paperwork/tools to be successful on their route. All delivered paperwork is audited, scanned, indexed, and sent to accounting.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process route/driver paperwork
  • Effectively manage drivers using current company policies and procedures
  • Dispatch drivers to and from facility while managing driver routes

EDUCATION:

Post-secondary education or High School Diploma or GED with 1-2 years industry experience.


EXPERIENCE:

Prior dispatch, route management and dispatching experience is a plus. Working knowledge in logistics and manufacturing is preferred. Must be able to work independently and effectively communicate within all levels of the organization. Must be highly organized, responsible, and dependable in order to problem solve and work in high pressure situations. Must be detail driven in order to audit paperwork.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None


COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook email required. Knowledge of TMW software is a plus. Must have the ability to learn new programs as necessary.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Solid work history and willingness to successfully function in a team environment.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is an office position within our crossdock facility. You will need to follow all correct and proper PPE requirements set for entering the dock area. Such as but not limited to, wearing a reflective vest, shirt, or jacket, and steel toe shoes or shoe coverings.
