Sales Consultant - Distributor - Phoenix, AZ
The Distributor Sales Consultant will develop and maintain relationships with distributors to influence Allegion market share for commercial hardware and electronic security solutions. This role will develop and maintain relationships with target customers through a consultative selling approach and regular pattern of calls to achieve company goals. In this role, you'll have the ability to instantly contribute to a high performing team of sales professionals and experts in our industry. At Allegion, we take a consultative approach to selling in a team environment and our teams win together.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.
What You Will Do:
  • Support business partner initiatives to maximize sales results. Coordinate with business partners to create demand, develop/execute strategy, and successfully close orders. Participate in joint sales calls and training; attend local, regional and/or national trade shows and association meetings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers, including peers within sales, marketing, engineering, customer and technical services, and operations.
  • Work closely with team members to position Allegion to close, using our team selling approach, collaboration being key.
  • Demonstrate the skill in influencing across our highly matrixed environment, aligning on goals.
  • Partner with all customers to ensure complete customer satisfaction, commitment and loyalty to Allegion products and services leading to increased revenue. Successful distributor consultants are adept at working with a sense of urgency and focus on the customer need.
  • Advise customers on product mix, applications, and promotions that meet their needs. Suggest possible new products and adaptations for product and/or system applications.
  • Follow up on all job quotes with distributors to secure projects and ensure a favorable mix of Allegion products.
  • Maintain excellent industry/territory knowledge by reviewing and understanding market data of competitive activity. Adapt to change in marketplace.
  • Maintain and utilize our customer relationship management (CRM) tool for sales reporting and to communicate sales activities.
  • Ensure proper customers and partners are adequately trained on new and existing products.
  • Drive adoption of our customer facing tools for collaboration and integration into their business, including self service options and utilization of Allegion's portal.
  • Adept in using social networking to stay engaged in and up-to-date on industry activity as a way to build new relationships.
  • Maintain awareness of all Allegion policies, guidelines, and procedures and ensure compliance; embody Allegion's values daily.

What You Need to Succeed:
  • 5+ years sales or industry experience; B2B sales experience preferred
  • Openness to development and continuing education
  • High School Diploma required; Degree in Sales, Business or Marketing is a plus
  • Ability to have daily presence in the field, face to face with customers
  • Outstanding communication and follow-up skills with bias for action
  • Knowledge of the door, frame and hardware or a parallel business is a plus
  • Proficient w/ MS Office tools
  • Ability to learn industry specific software
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
