Job description

Skylight is a technology startup building the OS of the family. We make Skylight Calendar, the smart calendar loved by millions of families (plus Wired and Wirecutter). Our latest product is Calendar 2, which just launched to rave reviews.
Our mission is to connect loved ones by creating the world’s simplest products and services that improve family life. Our founders are former venture capitalists and serial entrepreneurs who have scaled this business to $300M+ in annual revenue while being completely bootstrapped and profitable. We get to grow a happy, healthy company focused on making products our customers love without investors breathing down our necks.
Smart, hardworking people who care about making actually meaningful products love working here. People like you. We’re busy inventing new ways to simplify family life and help parents raise great kids – and we need your help! Come invent something new with us.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly resourceful National Retail Sales Coordinator to support several of Skylight's largest national retail partnerships.

This role is equal parts operational execution and business building. You will be expected to understand the business, identify issues before they become problems, dig into data, navigate retailers and internal systems and independently drive work forward.

You will partner closely with our National Account Managers while working cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Product and Marketing.

The right person is analytical, organized, commercially curious and scrappy. You may not always know where the answer lives, but you know how to find the right person, ask the right questions and keep moving until the problem is solved.

What You'll Own
  • Support the day-to-day management of several large national retail accounts.
  • Build strong working relationships with retailer buyers, planners, merchants, operations teams and other key partners.
  • Own weekly business reporting across sales, sell-through, inventory, forecasts, returns, promotions and other key account metrics.
  • Analyze retailer sales and inventory trends, identify root causes behind performance changes and recommend actions.
  • Partner with National Account Managers to improve forecasts, plan promotional lifts, identify incremental opportunities and proactively flag risks.
  • Build strong internal cross-functional relationships with operations, finance, supply chain and marketing.
  • Become highly proficient in retailer portals, reporting tools, item setup processes, forecasting systems and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate new item setup, retailer documentation, packaging requirements and launch activities.
  • Manage project timelines for retail displays, third-party vendors, creative approvals, shipments and retailer deadlines.
  • Work across Skylight to find answers, resolve issues and keep projects moving when ownership or processes are not immediately obvious.
  • Communicate risks, questions and blockers early and directly rather than waiting for problems to escalate.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience supporting national retail, consumer products, retail operations, sales analytics, account management or a related function.
  • Experience supporting large national retailers strongly preferred.
  • Experience with retailer portals, forecasting, item setup, inventory management or point-of-sale reporting strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn sales, inventory and operational data into actionable recommendations.
  • High ownership and initiative. You enjoy figuring out problems and finding solutions without clear established processes.
  • Resourcefulness. You are comfortable digging through systems, finding the right internal expert and figuring out unfamiliar processes.
  • A track record of not letting go of a problem until it's actually solved, even when the answer takes a few extra calls or emails to find.
  • Strong learning agility and the ability to quickly understand new tools, retailers, processes and business models.
  • Clear and direct communication skills. You ask questions, surface concerns, challenge assumptions constructively and communicate blockers early.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities and processes may evolve.

Benefits

Our competitive compensation package includes:

  • Competitive Salary + Equity Package
  • 401K matching
  • Wellness, learning, and home-office budgets
  • Health, Dental & Vision Medical Plans
  • Tremendous autonomy to set the direction of your work
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Company holidays on the first Friday of every month (Except November & December)
Equal opportunity employer
