Job Description

The Corporate Operations & Technology Engineering Team is seeking a Director Software Engineering, SAP SuccessFactors. We are currently undergoing a HR transformation that includes a green field implementation of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central. This is a strategic and technical leadership role for the organization’s global Human Capital Management (HCM) technology landscape. This role is responsible for shaping the long‑term SuccessFactors platform strategy, overseeing enterprise-scale implementations, driving innovation through SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and ensuring seamless integration across the HCM ecosystem. The Director partners closely with business and technology executives to modernize HR capabilities, optimize processes, and enable a scalable, secure, and clean-core SAP environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the enterprise-wide SAP SuccessFactors strategy, ensuring alignment with HR transformation goals and broader corporate technology objectives.
  • Establish and govern SAP architectural standards, integration frameworks, design patterns, and clean‑core principles.
  • Serve as the senior advisor to executive stakeholders on SAP roadmap decisions, emerging technologies, and platform optimization opportunities.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of SAP SuccessFactors initiatives—Employee Central, Talent modules, Integrations, and Platform extensions.
  • Oversee the migration and transformation of SAP HCM/SAP On-Premise custom workloads to SuccessFactors and SAP BTP.
  • Champion scalable solutions using in-app and side-by-side extensions (RAP, CAP, BAS, SAP Build, Work Zone).
  • Ensure the platform leverages best practices in data architecture, workflow automation, security, and system performance.
  • Manage a global team of architects, engineers, and consultants responsible for platform development, integration, and operations.
  • Maintain technical integrity across programs, minimizing duplication and maximizing reuse of core components.
  • Guide design and development of integrations using SAP Integration Suite, APIs, and non-SAP connectors.
  • Oversee technical reviews, solution validations, and architectural compliance across all HCM initiative
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Security, Compliance, and Enterprise Architecture to ensure aligned and scalable solutions.
  • Influence product roadmap and long-term strategy based on business priorities and technological advancements.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to senior leadership and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, security, and performance of the SuccessFactors ecosystem.
  • Establish operational KPIs, standards, and SLAs, ensuring continuous improvement across delivery and support functions.
  • Drive vendor management efforts with SAP and third-party partners.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in SAP HCM and SuccessFactors platforms.
  • 8+ full lifecycle SAP SuccessFactors implementations in a technical leadership or architecture role.
  • Deep expertise in Employee Central and at least two Talent modules, along with complex integration scenarios.
  • Strong understanding of SAP clean core, extensibility frameworks, and SAP BTP development models (RAP, CAP).
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale HR technology transformations (greenfield, brownfield, or hybrid).
  • Hands-on experience with APIs, OData, Integration Suite, cloud architecture, and non-SAP interfacing.
  • Experience working in global, matrixed organizations with executive-level exposure.
  • SAP SuccessFactors suite (Employee Central, Talent modules, Platform & integrations).
  • SAP BTP: BAS, CAP, RAP, Build, Work Zone, Integration Suite.
  • SAP HCM (on-prem), SAP BW/BW4HANA, SAC, and Fieldglass experience is highly advantageous.
  • Strong grounding in modern engineering practices—CI/CD, DevOps, API-first architecture, cloud development.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on technical oversight.
  • Results-driven with a focus on simplification, scalability, and total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction.

Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence. 

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
