Position Description:

Designs, architects, builds, and automates customized data pipelines that integrate multiple ingress sources and consumers, including Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and back-end batch applications (Common Business-Oriented Language (COBOL)), to power user-facing web applications across mainframe and distributed technology environments.Analyzes and designs data flows for mainframe and web-based brokerage and equity compensation application development.Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software applications.Researchesandrecommendsnew technologiesin support of the strategic direction of the business unit andparticipatesin the research and recommendation ofappropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.

  • Leads and mentors engineering teams, driving technical strategy and ensuring successful delivery of businessobjectives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) delivering data solutions for Master Data Management (MDM) focused on person-related data, leveraging mainframe, Java, and Oracle technologies.

Or, alternatively,Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) delivering data solutions for Master Data Management (MDM) focused on person-related data, leveraging mainframe, Java, and Oracle technologies.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must alsopossess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE")executing mainframe application development, test automation, and support using COBOL, CICS, Java, Web Services, and SQL; performing file formatting and comparisons with File-Aid; reviewing source code version control using Endeavor; debugging and unit testing applications using Intertest and Abend-Aid; and scheduling jobs using Control-M.

  • DEperforming mainframe application development and performance tuning within Time Sharing Option (TSO) and Multiple Virtual Storage (MVS) operating system environments; developing applications usingEndevor, Git, and ClearCase for version control, Control-M for scheduling, Abend-AID and Intertest for debugging, File-Aid for browsing, andEasytrievefor report generation; and conducting performance tuning and capacity planning -- reducing Input/Output (I/Os), Central Processing Unit (CPU) time, Million Service Unit (MSUs), and Million Instructions Per Second (MIPs) -- using Strobe,iStrobe, Platinum Detector, and Transaction Monitor (TMON).

  • DEbuilding web applications using Angular 10+, Node.js, NPM, HTML5, and JavaScript; and defining web application formatting rules and responsive designs using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and Sassy Cascading Style Sheets (SCSS).

  • DEperforming Continuous Development, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), using Docker, Jenkins,uDeploy, GIT, and Cloud service providers (Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure); and performing database operations associated with MySQL and SQL server using T-SQL queries and Stored Procedures.
