Senior Director, Licensing Officer The Senior Director, Licensing Officer (LO) reports to the Head of Business Development & Licensing, Oncology & Radiology. You will identify, shape, negotiate and execute high-value licensing, acquisition and strategic collaboration transactions that advance Bayer Pharmaceuticals' strategy-primarily focused on Oncology.

The role requires strong business judgment, deal experience, and excellent cross-functional and external partnering skills. You will represent Bayer in partner negotiations and present opportunities and recommendations to senior leadership and governance committees. Key responsibilities Lead strategy and deal execution for Oncology (and potentially Radiology) BD&L initiatives: sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, contracting and deal close; Own or co-lead transactions end-to-end, including business case development, valuation, term sheet negotiation, due diligence and transition to alliance management; Lead Integrated Deal Teams (IDTs), partnering with Scientific Licensing colleagues (SLO) where appropriate; Drive internal opportunity assessments - technical, clinical, commercial and financial - and synthesize findings for BU and executive decision-making; Negotiate directly with partner counterparts and shape creative deal structures to solve complex commercial, scientific and legal requirements; Present opportunity assessments and recommended approaches to leadership and senior governance committees to secure approvals for term sheet, diligence and contracting phases; Manage selected alliances to deliver on deal value and ensure effective partner governance and outcomes; Maintain and expand external networks across biotech, pharma, investors and ecosystem partners to proactively generate and evaluate opportunities; Execute Bayer's Open Innovation/ecosystem engagement strategy in the US and EU and collaborate closely with regional commercial teams to identify regional opportunities and alignment.

Required qualifications Advanced degree (MS/MA/PhD or comparable) in Life Sciences, or degree in Business, Law, Finance, or related field; Proven track record of leading and closing complex biopharma deals; strong negotiation and contracting experience (please include deal sheet with application); Deep understanding of pharmaceutical R&D, Oncology drug development and competitive landscape; Strong commercial acumen, including advising on valuation, deal structuring and business case development; Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills; able to distill complex information and influence at executive levels; Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix environment and to drive timely decisions and outcomes; Ability to build trust and influence internal and external stakeholders across cultures and seniority levels; Willingness to travel up to 40%. Preferred qualifications 15+ years of relevant industry experience; At least 7 years in Business Development (or related finance/VC/banking/Equity Research experience). Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $ 220,466.40 - $330,699.60
