The Role

As Director of eCommerce Technology, you will lead the execution, delivery, and continuous improvement of Deckers' global eCommerce platforms and consumer digital experiences. You'll ensure our eCommerce capabilities are scalable, reliable, and aligned to business priorities, enabling growth, conversion, and exceptional customer experiences across brands and regions. This role is both hands-on and strategic, balancing near-term delivery, platform stability, and performance with longer-term modernization and capability evolution. You'll partner closely with Product, Digital, Marketing, and Operations teams to translate strategy into execution, overseeing teams responsible for development, platform operations, and ongoing optimization of eCommerce systems.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; MBA or Master's degree in Technology Management or Business Administration preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering or digital platform delivery, with 5+ years in people leadership roles
  • Proven experience delivering and operating enterprise-scale eCommerce platforms
  • Hands-on experience with modern commerce technologies (Salesforce Commerce Cloud, headless commerce, composable architectures)
  • Experience working in global retail, DTC, or consumer-facing digital environments strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional delivery teams and managing competing priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce platforms, web technologies, and cloud-native architectures
  • Experience with agile delivery, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear technical and delivery plans
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Results-oriented mindset with a passion for customer experience, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Experience managing, developing, and delivering multi-tenant eCommerce platforms
  • Experience in AI-augmented SDLC for application development is a value add
  • Extensive experience in application performance tuning and platform scalability
  • Expertise in enabling tech strategies for digital/retail domains
  • Extensive experience in Microservices, APIs, Cloud Native & Headless integrations
