Job description

We are the people who give possibilities purpose

BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health is our Purpose, and it's no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us-from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year-to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description

Director, Digital Health Commercial Transformation

The Director, Digital Health Commercial Transformation is responsible for building the commercial execution engine that enables our gotomarket strategies across business models, ensuring a seamless transition from productcentric selling to digitally enabled, valuebased, and solutionsoriented models.

Reporting into the VP, Global Marketing, this role serves as the strategic integrator across Product teams, Commercial Operations, Sales, Service, Finance, Marketing, Regions, IT, and relevant functions to drive digital health transformation that translates into scalable, repeatable, and measurable commercial systems and processes.

This role is critical to advancing BD's digital transformation journey and ensuring the success of a major, multiyear, highly complex commercial transformation program. As such, the role is expected to engage in executivelevel interactions across senior internal leaders and external audiences.

The role establishes and applies operatingsystem discipline, including governance, standard work, performance management, and continuous improvement, to BD's digital health commercial initiatives, while remaining pragmatic, customercentric, and compliant within regulated healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Health Commercial Transformation Leadership

  • Translate strategy into a clearly sequenced and resourced portfolio of commercial initiatives spanning go-to-market models, sales enablement, pricing and packaging, lifecycle transitions, and enterprise customer engagement
  • Act as the single point of orchestration for execution across Global Marketing and adjacent commercial and enabling functions, ensuring focus, coordination, and accountability
  • Own the deployment and execution of the digital health commercial transformation roadmap at the business unit level, aligned with BD enterprise priorities and Global Marketing direction

Strategy Deployment and Operating Cadence

  • Convert strategic objectives into executable plans with clear ownership, milestones, and success measures
  • Establish and sustain disciplined operating rhythms, including execution and risk reviews, priority and performance reviews, and executive decision forums
  • Maintain transparent visibility into execution progress, risks, interdependencies, and resourcing tradeoffs, and proactively escalate where decisions are required
  • Prepare concise, outcomefocused materials to support timely leadership decisions, tradeoffs, and course correction

Governance, Decision Enablement, and Alignment

  • Ensure alignment between global strategy, regional execution plans, business unit priorities, and enterprise digital platforms
  • Surface and resolve crossfunctional and crossregional conflicts that slow progress
  • Define clear standards for initiative intake, prioritization, sequencing, and governance, grounded in commercial outcomes rather than process compliance
  • Clarify and reinforce decision rights across Global Marketing, business units, regions, and digital health teams
  • Enable global consistency while allowing for appropriate regional and market specific adaptation

Measurement, Analytics, and Value Realization

  • Design and own a digital health commercial scorecard tracking adoption, utilization, commercial contribution, customer value, and return on investment
  • Use performance data to drive factbased prioritization, continuous optimization, and informed scaling decisions

Change, Adoption, and Capability Building

  • Collaborate across Product teams, Commercial Operations, Sales, Service, Finance, Marketing, Regions, IT, and relevant functions to support adoption of new digital offerings, commercial models, and ways of working
  • Establish consistent execution practices that enable focus and delivery without adding unnecessary administrative burden
  • Capture and scale proven practices across teams, regions, and portfolios to strengthen longterm commercial capabilities

Role Expectations

  • Operate as an execution leader and integrator in a complex, matrixed organization with limited direct authority
  • Bring rigor and structure to ambiguous, fastmoving environments while maintaining momentum and trust
  • Proactively surface tradeoffs and force prioritization discussions at the appropriate leadership levels
  • Maintain execution discipline through shifting priorities, leadership changes, and external pressures
  • Build credibility through transparency, consistency, and followthrough rather than positional authority

Personal Characteristics

  • Ownership: Takes accountability for outcomes endtoend, following through across complex, crossfunctional efforts and ensure commitments turn into results.
  • Systems Thinking: Naturally connects strategy, execution, and measurement, bringing structure, clarity, and coherence to complex commercial and organizational challenges.
  • Comfort with Ambiguity: Operates effectively in evolving and ambiguous environments, navigating competing perspectives while maintaining focus and forward momentum.
  • Influencer: Builds trust and alignment across teams and leaders, holding others accountable through clarity, collaboration, and credibility rather than positional authority.
  • Clear Communicator: Listens actively and communicates with impact, translating complex topics into clear, actionable insights and decisions for diverse stakeholders.
  • HandsOn: Ready to roll up sleeves and jump in, with a bias toward getting things done
  • Long-term Focus: Motivated by building repeatable capabilities, strengthening teams, and creating durable, longterm value rather than onetime achievements or personal recognition.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, science, engineering, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Twelve or more years of experience across digital health or healthcare commercialization, including product and gotomarket leadership, commercial transformation, commercial operations and execution roles within complex, regulated environments
  • Strong understanding of healthcare markets, regulated environments, and portfolios spanning hardware, software, and services
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Executivelevel communication and stakeholder management skills
