Position Overview

The Associate Director, Digital Health Studies provides senior leadership for the delivery of digital health clinical research programs, including decentralized and hybrid clinical trials, connected devices, digital therapeutics, AI-enabled healthcare technologies, wearable solutions, and other technology-enabled study models.

This role serves as a sponsor-facing leader responsible for clinical oversight, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration across the study lifecycle. The Associate Director will play a key role in growing and scaling IQVIA's Digital Health practice by ensuring high-quality execution, supporting business development efforts, and developing organizational capabilities in this rapidly evolving area.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Operational Leadership
  • Provide leadership and oversight for digital health clinical studies from study start-up through closeout.
  • Ensure studies are executed in compliance with ICH-GCP, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Serve as the escalation point for clinical, operational, quality, and technology-related issues.
  • Drive consistency and best practices across digital health study delivery.
Sponsor & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for sponsors and senior stakeholders.
  • Lead governance meetings, study reviews, and executive-level communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, investigators, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Practice Growth & Business Development
  • Support proposals, bid defenses, and client presentations.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise across digital health, decentralized clinical trials, connected devices, and emerging healthcare technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable delivery models and service offerings.
People Leadership
  • Mentor and develop project managers, clinical staff, and study teams.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Public Health, Nursing, Technology, or a related field.Advanced scientific, clinical, public health, or related healthcare discipline strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of clinical research experience, including experience supporting digital health, medical device, or technology-enabled clinical studies.
  • Experience leading complex, multi-study clinical research programs.
  • Strong understanding of ICH-GCP, clinical trial operations, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred
  • Experience with decentralized and hybrid clinical trial models.
  • Experience supporting one or more of the following:
    • Digital Therapeutics (DTx)
    • Connected Medical Devices
    • Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
    • AI-Enabled Healthcare Solutions
    • Wearable Technologies
    • Remote Patient Monitoring
    • Radiology or Imaging Technologies
  • Familiarity with EDC, CTMS, ePRO, and other clinical technology platforms.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $102,500.00 - $285,500.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
