Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
TP Trucking & Logistics is looking for an energetic candidate to fill the position of Recruiter. This position will recruit from TP Trucking's Martinez, GA office for Drivers for our Texas and Georgia locations. The Recruiter is responsible for all aspects of the driver recruitment process, including but not limited to identifying, sourcing, and recruiting qualified Class A, flatbed drivers.
MAJOR TASKS
  • Sources driver candidates using a variety of recruiting methods such as networking, advertising, social media, career events, etc.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Dispatch teams to identify and promote maximum saturation in target areas.
  • Proactively identifies and contacts potential candidates, discusses opportunities, evaluates candidates' interest in working for TP Trucking. Periodically follows up with potential candidates regarding changes in interest and availability.
  • Reviews applications and conducts interviews.
  • Regularly conducts external research and calls on network contacts to maintain full understanding of the local driver labor market.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with third parties and outside agencies to source driver candidates.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with drivers through a variety of sources, electronically and in person.
  • Works closely with the TP Marketing department and 3rd party providers to utilize all avenues to recruit drivers (website, social media, radio, TV, etc.).
  • Works with the Trucking Safety Coordinator and Driver Supervisor to conduct risk assessments of driver candidates.
  • Responsible for pre-hire verification requirements, including background checks, CDL/MVR reviews, drug testing and DOT physicals.
  • Occasional travel may be required to attend career events and job fairs, to meet with other Timber Products' staff, etc.

Skills & Requirements
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • 2-4 years of experience in Class A driver recruiting (flatbed preferred), or closely related industry.
  • BA/BS degree in business, HR or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills required, including the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.), and the ability to learn and use company specific software.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with potential candidates, drivers, outside sources for drivers, and current employees.
  • Requires ability to initiate and manage projects, and to work productively with little direct supervision.
