Job description

Company Description
QQR Logistics and QQR Transport keep critical freight moving for supply chains that can't afford to stop. QQR brings disciplined execution to complex supply chains across automotive, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, aerospace, energy, and other key industries - throughout North America and across major U.S.-Canada and U.S.-Mexico cross-border lanes.
This role is with QQR Transport, an asset-based carrier that operates its own fleet, running full-truckload (FTL) freight in dry van, bulk, and open deck modalities. QQR Transport is building its dispatch and operations team in Cincinnati, Ohio and looking for experienced logistics professionals that are ready to grow their careers.
Compensation
An individual candidate's placement within a range will be based on relevant work experience, demonstrated skills, and applicable education or professional training. The total compensation range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000 including salary and performance bonus.
Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic, high-volume CDL Driver Recruiter to join QQR Transport's growing team. In this role, you will own full-cycle recruitment for qualified commercial driver's license (CDL) holders and owner-operators - from first contact through orientation - building a reliable pipeline of driver talent to support the company's growth. Speed matters: our best recruiters treat every new lead as time-sensitive and connect with drivers quickly, before they sign on elsewhere. Your recruiting expertise, relationship-building skills, and comfort with a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment will make a direct impact on QQR's fleet growth and driver retention.
Key Responsibilities
Driver Sourcing & Recruitment
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for CDL Class A drivers, using applicant tracking system (ATS) to source, screen, and interview candidates
  • Respond to new driver applications and inbound leads promptly - same-day contact is the standard - to maximize contact and qualification rates
  • Conduct detailed phone and in-person interviews to assess CDL experience, equipment operated, route experience, endorsements, and overall job fit
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media advertising, employee referrals, job fairs, professional networks, local CDL driving schools, and trucking associations
  • Build and maintain ongoing relationships with driving schools and industry associations to create a steady, repeatable candidate pipeline
  • Verify candidate qualifications - including MVR, PSP, employment history, and background/Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse checks - in compliance with DOT/FMCSA standards
  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies and campaigns to meet company hiring goals and seasonal capacity needs

Onboarding & Compliance Support
  • Confirm new-hire orientation dates and coordinate related travel or lodging arrangements as needed
  • Coordinate road tests, drug screens, and onboarding paperwork
  • Collect and process required applicant documentation, ensuring driver qualification files (DQFs) are complete and audit-ready
  • Partner with the safety team to confirm new-hire compliance documentation meets DOT and company standards

Driver Engagement & Retention
  • Build strong relationships with driver candidates and owner-operators to support engagement, satisfaction, and long-term retention
  • Maintain consistent follow-up throughout recruiting, hiring, and the early weeks of employment (e.g., 30/60/90-day check-ins)
  • Work collaboratively with executive leadership, dispatch, operations, and safety teams to support a positive overall driver experience
  • Educate new drivers on company policies, safety expectations, and Carrier Safety Ratings
  • Build and expand QQR Driver Appreciation and Awards Program with the entire QQR team and work closely with QQR Safety Manager to support ongoing driver safety training and awards recognition events

Reporting & Process Improvement
  • Track and report recruiting KPIs - contact rate, time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, source-of-hire, and new-hire retention (e.g., 90-day retention) - to leadership
  • Identify which sourcing channels deliver the best-quality candidates and recommend where to focus recruiting spend
  • Recommend process improvements to increase recruiting efficiency and improve the candidate experience

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Previous CDL driver recruiting experience strongly required
  • 2+ years experience recruiting for OTR, regional, local, and/or dedicated CDL assignments
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing, screening, and interviewing Class A and/or Class B CDL drivers and owner-operators
  • Comfortable with high-volume outbound calling and a fast-paced, lead-driven recruiting environment
  • Working knowledge of the commercial trucking and transportation industry
  • Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements, driver qualification files, MVR/PSP review, and Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse procedures
  • General understanding of employment law and HR practices as they apply to driver hiring
  • Excellent communication, interviewing, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume pipeline and multiple priorities simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with driver recruiting/ATS platforms such as Tenstreet or similar
  • Familiarity with Highway or other compliance/DQF management systems
  • Experience conducting DOT road tests a plus
  • Prior CDL driver management experience a plus
  • Bilingual is a plus

What Success Looks Like
