What is an Operations Recruitment Agency?

An Operations Recruitment Agency is a specialized firm that helps businesses find and hire qualified candidates for operational roles, such as operations managers, logistics coordinators, and supply chain specialists. These agencies understand the unique skills and experience required for operations positions and use their networks and expertise to match employers with suitable candidates. They often handle tasks such as job advertising, candidate screening, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring process, saving companies time and resources.

Is it worth using a recruiter to find a job?

Using a recruiter can be beneficial for operations professionals as they often have access to exclusive job openings and can help tailor applications to meet employer needs. Recruiters also provide interview preparation and feedback, which can improve chances of success. However, candidates should evaluate the recruiter's reputation and ensure their goals align with the opportunities presented.

How does working at an operations recruitment agency differ from working in-house as a recruiter?

Working at an operations recruitment agency typically involves managing multiple client accounts across various industries, which can make the workload more dynamic and fast-paced compared to an in-house recruitment role. Agency recruiters must be proactive in sourcing candidates, maintaining strong client relationships, and adapting quickly to changing client needs. Collaboration with other consultants and business development teams is common, and success is often measured by placement performance and client satisfaction. This environment offers exposure to diverse roles and companies, which can accelerate professional growth and expand your industry network.

What is operations recruitment?

Operations recruitment involves sourcing, screening, and hiring candidates for roles that support the daily functions of a business, such as logistics, supply chain, or administrative positions. Recruiters in this field often focus on assessing candidates' organizational skills, industry knowledge, and ability to work in fast-paced environments, sometimes utilizing applicant tracking systems (ATS) to manage the process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in an Operations Recruitment Agency role, and why are they important?

To thrive in an Operations Recruitment Agency role, you need strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of recruitment processes, and often a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HR databases, and recruitment marketing platforms is typically required. Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation abilities, and resilience help you build relationships with clients and candidates while managing multiple priorities. These skills are essential for matching the right talent with operational roles efficiently and ensuring client satisfaction in a competitive recruitment landscape.

Is operations a high paying job?

Operations roles can offer competitive salaries, especially in management or senior positions, with pay often increasing with experience, certifications, and industry. Entry-level operations jobs tend to have average wages, but specialized or leadership roles can be high paying depending on the company and location.

Job description

Profound Recruiting Operations Role

Profound is the marketing platform for the AI era. As people increasingly turn to AI to decide what to buy, we give brands the intelligence to see how AI represents them and the Agents to act on it. Today, ~13% of the Fortune 500, plus companies like Ramp, Figma, Chime, Calendly, and DocuSign, use Profound to turn AI Search from a black box into a measurable growth channel.

Backed by Lightspeed, Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, and Khosla Ventures at a $1B valuation, we're a lean, fast-moving team across NYC, SF, Buenos Aires, and London, shipping at a relentless pace and defining a new category at the biggest shift in marketing in 25 years. If you want to do the best work of your career at the frontier of AI, come build it with us.

We're scaling from 90 to 500 people by the end of this year, which is the single biggest operational challenge in front of us.

As Profound's first Recruiting Operations hire, you will build the systems, processes, and data infrastructure that power how we hire at scale. Part process architect, part analyst, part hiring manager whisperer, you will manufacture the machine that lets every recruiter move faster and every hiring manager show up prepared. Your work will directly shape how our recruiting function scales.

What You'll Do
  • Own Profound's ATS end to end, including pipeline configuration, stage definitions, scorecards, automations, and integrations with scheduling and sourcing tools, and be the person everyone comes to when something is not working
  • Audit the full hiring process across every function, mapping where candidates are moving fast, where they are stalling, and where we are losing people we should not, then fix it
  • Manage or lead a team of Recruiting Coordinators, owning their day-to-day priorities, growth, and performance as we scale hiring
  • Build and maintain a recruiting metrics dashboard that tracks time to hire, pipeline conversion by stage, source quality, and offer acceptance rates, and surface insights that drive decisions
  • Design and run hiring manager enablement, including structured intake templates, interview guides, and scorecards that turn hiring managers into force multipliers
  • Set SLAs across the recruiting process, including response times, feedback timelines, and stage duration expectations, and hold teams accountable to them
  • Build documentation and playbooks that allow the recruiting function to scale, covering everything from role kickoff to debrief to offer close
  • Manage the recruiting tech stack beyond the ATS, including scheduling tools, sourcing platforms, and LinkedIn Recruiter, ensuring we get full value from each system
  • Partner with Finance and People Ops on headcount planning and req tracking to ensure approved hiring plans move through the pipeline on schedule
Who You Are
  • Systems thinker who finds broken processes interesting and instinctively works to map and fix them
  • Analytical and data-driven, able to build dashboards and translate recruiting data into actionable recommendations
  • Familiar with modern ATS platforms and able to configure and optimize them, not just use them
  • Strong communicator who can run enablement sessions and earn trust from hiring managers across functions
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple roles, recruiters, and workflows without losing track of details
  • Comfortable building from zero and excited by the lack of existing playbooks
  • High agency operator who identifies what needs to happen and executes without waiting for direction
Location

This is an on-site role based in our NYC or SF office, designed for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and meaningful impact.

For this role, the expected base salary range is $100,000 to $140,000 (NYC and SF). Profound's total compensation package is designed to be competitive and includes base salary, equity, and a full range of benefits and perks. Final compensation will depend on factors such as your skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and will be determined during the interview process. Our recruiting team will share more details about the full compensation package and benefits as you move through hiring.

Note: All official communication from Profound will come from a @tryprofound.com email address. If you're contacted by anyone using a different domain, please disregard and report it as spam.
