What is an operations recruitment agency?

An Operations Recruitment Agency is a specialized firm that helps businesses find and hire qualified candidates for operational roles, such as operations managers, logistics coordinators, and supply chain specialists. These agencies understand the unique skills and experience required for operations positions and use their networks and expertise to match employers with suitable candidates. They often handle tasks such as job advertising, candidate screening, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring process, saving companies time and resources.

How does working at an operations recruitment agency differ from working in-house as a recruiter?

Working at an operations recruitment agency typically involves managing multiple client accounts across various industries, which can make the workload more dynamic and fast-paced compared to an in-house recruitment role. Agency recruiters must be proactive in sourcing candidates, maintaining strong client relationships, and adapting quickly to changing client needs. Collaboration with other consultants and business development teams is common, and success is often measured by placement performance and client satisfaction. This environment offers exposure to diverse roles and companies, which can accelerate professional growth and expand your industry network.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in an operations recruitment agency role, and why are they important?

To thrive in an Operations Recruitment Agency role, you need strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of recruitment processes, and often a bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HR databases, and recruitment marketing platforms is typically required. Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation abilities, and resilience help you build relationships with clients and candidates while managing multiple priorities. These skills are essential for matching the right talent with operational roles efficiently and ensuring client satisfaction in a competitive recruitment landscape.

Hourly Operations Recruiter- On-site Erlanger, KY
This is a full-time, exempt position.
About The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Recruiter with hourly manufacturing operations recruitment experience to recruit talent for our nutrition organization.   To excel, you'll utilize your highly advanced sourcing skills to research and network with passive candidates and land critical talent for our organization.   You are a creative problem-solver and establish strong partnerships with hiring managers, working well with other areas of HR.   We are looking for a highly consultative recruiter who brings external market insights to bear when consulting hiring managers and HR Business Partners on talent needs and recruitment approaches.
This is a fast-paced and dynamic role on an energetic and inclusive team where thinking about things in new ways is strongly supported. You'll also work on projects to improve and innovate how we attract and recruit the best talent, because we know that there's always a better way - from generating a candidate pipeline to finding ways to streamline and improve the manager and candidate experience.  You are relationship oriented and a natural communicator, and have a proven track record of building and maintaining lasting relationships with both candidates and hiring managers.   You will help position ADM as an employer of choice with highly skilled, in-demand diverse talent that is critical to our growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:   In This Role You Will...
  • Build solid relationships with hiring managers and develop a keen understanding of team dynamics and cultural fit, and the skills needed to continue the growth and success of the business
  • Act as an ambassador of ADM and help create a strong employer-of-choice brand
  • Use your knowledge of the local communities to build recruiting strategies for open positions at assigned sites
  • Leverage multiple sourcing channels to identify and attract highly skilled diverse talent
  • Own the full cycle recruiting process, including sourcing, relationship management, and the offer and closing of candidates
  • Keep managers and candidates informed on the status of the process
  • Partner effectively with HR Business Partners to ensure the talent needs of the organization are met
  • Drive an efficient hiring process and maintain quality pipeline metrics via the ATS (Kenexa/Brassring)
Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a full life-cycle, hourly operations recruiter
  • Highly developed communication skills- both written and verbal
  • Prior agency experience is a plus
  • Strong consulting and problem solving skills
  • Experience developing targeted local sourcing pipelines to attract talent for rural plant locations
  • Self-motivated with superior organizational skills, integrity and follow through
  • Strong relationship management experience and closing skills
  • Strong self-starter and "dot-connector" that sees the big picture and drives processes to deliver desired outcomes.
Excited about this role but don't think you meet every requirement listed? We encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this role or another one of our openings.
ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.
