Job Description Summary:

The Legal Recruiting Manager will primarily lead and execute the law student recruiting strategy and annual summer program. Secondary duties will include working with other department management to handle the day-to-day functions of lateral associate and counsel to ensure top-notch talent acquisition.
The Manager will report directly to the Director of Attorney Recruiting and also work closely with the Firm's Hiring Partners, Practice Area Leaders, and Recruiting Department colleagues to ensure that the Firm achieves success in its recruiting and hiring efforts
This role will be based in one of our Bay Area offices (Silicon Valley or San Francisco, CA) and will require 2-3 days of inoffice presence per week, with additional onsite days as needed to support business and client requirements. Travel between Bay Area office locations will also be required as needed. This is a fulltime exempt role.

Job Description:

Law Student Recruiting

  • Oversee the 1L and 2L law student recruitment processes across all offices, including creating strategies and timeline for campus recruitment in constantly-evolving market.
  • In connection with law student recruiting, manage the review and selection of candidates for interviews, screening and callback interview processes, offer decision process, and follow-up efforts post-offer.
  • Manage national recruiting team to execute the Summer Associate Program including onboarding, orientation, training, Fenwick University Summer event, social events, work assignments, work evaluations, midsummer and end-of-summer reviews, and offer decisions.
  • With collaboration of Recruiting Director, create and execute strategies for law school outreach and student engagement activities, as well as on-campus events during the academic year, to increase the firm's visibility at assigned national and regional law schools.
  • Coordinate events and efforts with law schools and student affinity groups to promote firm brand.
  • Collaborate with the recruiting team across the U.S. to ensure firmwide consistency and to share resources and creative ideas.
  • Oversee 3L law school student recruiting.

Lateral Attorney Recruiting

  • In coordination with other recruiting team leadership, handle day-to-day planning in lateral associate recruiting operations for patent agents, associates, and counsel candidates.
  • Work with team management to execute recruiting plans, including attorney job postings, ensuring the efficient tracking and filling open positions, developing a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need, developing new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting, and building networks.
  • Systematize the search process and manage each search from start to finish in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Foster relationships with legal industry contacts, search firms and local law schools and universities.
  • Analyze and interpret firmwide and industry data to provide regular and ad hoc reports and analysis of law student recruiting, summer associate, and fall associate data to local hiring committee.
  • Collaborate with Legal Training & Development and Legal Personnel to integrate and onboard new associates, patent agents, and counsel.
  • Remain up-to-date on market data and research in connection with compensation and other market data and trends.
  • Keep abreast of lateral hiring trends and law firm news in the local and national markets.

General

  • Provide day-to-day work direction and professional development for recruiting coordinator(s) and/or recruiting assistant(s).
  • Collaborate with other administrative departments in developing marketing materials, website content for recruiting purposes, and social media strategy.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of related experience. Legal experience at a major law firm and/or in-house legal department preferred. Knowledge of viRecruit, viWork Allocation, Smartsheet, and Workday a plus. Bachelor's degree required.

The anticipated range for this position is:

$126,000 - $189,000

Depending on the role, the actual base salary offered may depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

A discretionary bonus for eligible employees may also be available based on performance. Additional information about employee eligibility for benefits and discretionary bonus will be made available upon request.
