Job Summary
The Creative Services Director - Football will provide leadership, vision and strategic oversight of the Purdue Football program creative services area, including video production and graphic design. This position will utilize a proactive approach to guide operations of the area with attention to project management, brand identity development and maintenance, compelling content creation and execution of departmental outreach and revenue generation efforts for Football. The selected candidate will work to positively impact Boilermaker student-athlete and Purdue fan experience on a daily basis.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Lead, execute, and manage creative services strategy for the Football Program, providing administrative oversight and guidance to project queueing and allocation of resources, while helping maintain and elevate the Purdue Boilermakers Football brand in all facets, including visual campaigns, graphic designs, video productions, web-based, social media and printed publications.
  • Will represent creative services area for Football to internal areas and external constituents, helping maintain brand integrity and institutional messaging.
  • All projects should be delivered at a high quality and meet identified goals and expectations.
  • Manage production and content requests for Purdue Football program, working with Football staff and coaches, as well as secondary areas of the department, preparing, executing, and guiding creative services initiatives to best deliver completed tasks, projects and campaigns in a timely, creative and collaborative manner ensuring it is representing Purdue's brand and reaching key stakeholder groups of prospective student-athletes, alumni, donors and fans.
  • Work with staff members from communications, development (John Purdue Club), event management, facilities, marketing & fan experience, revenue generation, and ticketing in building and delivering creative concepts that proactively satisfy project goals for Football, including public relations initiatives, promotional materials, television and online commercials, fundraising collateral and special event endeavors.
  • Production management of the Football facilities branding and graphic requests, including needs for yearly installation updates, such as locker room nameplates, exterior banners, etc.
  • Must work with vendors on pricing, production and installation.
  • Travel with Football program to execute duties for creative services.
  • Provide support, as needed, throughout athletics department to best impact brand visibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Multimedia or related field of study
  • Five (5) years design and advertising experience within the sports, entertainment, or advertising industry.
  • Experience with videography, photography and motion graphics preferred.
  • Experience with administratively managing a staff.

Skills needed:
  • Must be able to work independently and with a creative team on projects from concept to completion while exhibiting strong leadership skills and the ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • Possess a firm understanding of the principles of art/design and possess the ability to use that knowledge to create aesthetically pleasing, impactful graphic content. Must also have a working knowledge of print production.
  • Professional competency with Adobe Creative Suite with an emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is required. Experience with After Effects preferred as well as knowledge of current internet design standards.
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently and be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities. Experience in fast-paced work environments is essential.
  • Must be an effective communicator and be able to clearly and concisely explain project ideas and details. Must be able to lead a team comprised of full-time staff and students as well as interact effectively with administration, coaches, student-athletes, support staff, and vendors.
  • Understand the importance of brand standards and operate within identity guidelines.
  • Must possess an expansive knowledge of sports and adhere to the applicable rules and standards of the Big ten Conference, the NCAA, and the Big Ten Network.
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proactive, creative thinker able to troubleshoot issues and solve problems.
