Job description


KOCO-TV is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Creative Services Director to lead the station's brand vision and execution. This role reports directly to the General Manager. The ideal candidate is a versatile, hands-on creative leader with the ability to shoot, write, and edit, while working efficiently within Adobe Creative Suite. They must thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while elevating and maintaining the look, feel, and voice of a legacy brand. As the station's brand manager, this individual will lead a team of three talented writers and producers, developing and executing targeted, research-driven promotional campaigns across multiple platforms. These campaigns should strengthen KOCO-TV's connection with its audience and drive measurable growth. The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of brand growth, along with demonstrated experience building, mentoring, and inspiring high-performing teams. Strategic thinking, creative innovation, and strong leadership skills are essential for success in this role.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage production of compelling image, sweeps and special event campaigns for all platforms
  • Schedule staff station community and promotional events
  • Responsible for the development and execution of station promotion for our linear platform, MeTV, KOCO.com and app along with Very Local Oklahoma
  • Supervise creative team in brand, image, and daily topical promotion
  • Produce on and off-air promotions
  • Special projects coordination & fulfillment
  • Produce effective news & programming promotion
  • Produce & post targeted social media marketing
  • Manage inventory for daily on-air logs as directed and as needed
  • Attend outside community functions or meetings
  • Identify and implement strategies for increasing station ratings and brand awareness
  • In-person attendance is required

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years in station marketing/promotion/brand management.
  • Wide Orbit and ENPS experience is a plus
  • Must have a winning attitude and a commitment to excellence and quality promotion
  • Must have proven skills of collaborating with News staff and station personnel
  • Must be highly creative, a compelling writer and be able to use research to meet station goals of growing an audience
  • Non-linear editing required; efficient in Adobe Creative Suite or similar application
  • Creative writing and conceptualization; able to craft compelling messages based on station research
  • Excellent verbal communication & strong writing skills
  • Detailed oriented & organized
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated personnel management and development skills
  • Graphic Skills preferred
  • Valid driver's license (hire is contingent on good driving record)
  • Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience
  • Military training from Defense Information School (DINFOS) will be considered
