Job description

High Point University Athletics is seeking a highly motived individual to serve as the Director of Creative Services. This position serves as the primary oversight of all creative content for all sports at High Point University. This position will report to the Deputy Assistant Director for Revenue Share & Compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferred in Digital Media, Sports Management, Journalism, or Communications. Experience in athletics/sports preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Strong writing, editing and design (print and web) skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with members of the media, coaches, student-athletes, athletics staff, parents, fans and alumni
  • Ability to work independently as well as lead projects
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including late night and weekend hours

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serves as the primary oversight and contact for all creative graphic and video for the entire athletic department
  • Oversight of Assistant Director of Creative Services
  • Oversight of HPU student photographers and multiple creative sport communications interns
  • Creates hype video for gamedays (each team)
  • Creates players of the week graphics
  • Creates gameday graphics, starting lineup graphics, signing day graphics, schedule release graphics
  • Creates intro videos, starting lineup videos, and player celebrations for social media and the video board
  • Captures creative video/photo during games
  • Captures field/court level video and send to social media platforms for immediate coverage
  • Creates type of player roster, stats, and schedules for broadcast graphics
  • Creates post-game replay melt for the conference and distribute to other schools
  • Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, students' parents, faculty, co-workers and managers
  • Other duties as assigned
