Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dining Manager to oversee all aspects of dining services for our Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. The Dining Manager is responsible for managing kitchen operations, supervising dietary staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and creating a pleasant dining experience that meets the nutritional needs of our residents.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who is organized, service-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional hospitality and resident-centered care.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Management
  • Supervise, schedule, and support dietary staff.

  • Conduct staff training and ongoing coaching.

  • Monitor staff performance and ensure accountability.

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and assist with recruitment and retention efforts.

  • Foster a positive and teamwork-oriented environment.

Dining Services
  • Oversee preparation and service of three daily meals and snacks.

  • Ensure meal service is timely, efficient, and resident-focused.

  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.

  • Ensure adequate coverage for Assisted Living and Memory Care dining services.

  • Address resident concerns and food preferences promptly.

Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.

  • Maintain sanitation standards throughout the kitchen and dining areas.

  • Monitor infection prevention practices.

  • Prepare for and participate in state surveys and inspections.

  • Ensure proper food storage, temperature monitoring, and documentation.

Menu Planning & Nutrition
  • Coordinate menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines.

  • Accommodate special diets, allergies, and physician orders.

  • Work collaboratively with nursing staff regarding resident nutritional needs.

  • Monitor resident meal satisfaction and make recommendations for improvements.

Inventory & Purchasing
  • Manage food ordering and inventory levels.

  • Control food and supply costs within established budgets.

  • Conduct regular inventory counts.

  • Ensure adequate supplies are available for meal service.

Resident and Family Relations
  • Build positive relationships with residents and families.

  • Participate in resident council meetings as requested.

  • Gather feedback regarding meal quality and dining services.

  • Promote hospitality and customer service throughout the dining program.

QualificationsRequired
  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of two years of food service experience.

  • Previous supervisory or management experience.

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.

Preferred
  • Experience in Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, Healthcare, or Hospitality.

  • ServSafe Certification or equivalent.

  • Experience with special diets and senior nutrition.

  • Culinary training or dietary management experience.

Schedule
  • Full-Time

  • Primarily daytime hours with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Participation in an on-call rotation may be required.
