PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. In the absence of the Dining Room Manager, supervises the physical appearance of the dining room area and server stations including table pedestals, table place settings, chairs, floors, drapes and lighting.
2. Coordinates the seating of the residents and guests in an efficient, courteous manner.
3. Schedules stations and work assignments for the wait staff and check out servers to make sure standards are met.
4. Records meal counts, reservations and additional charges. Complete knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) system.
5. Confers with Dining Room Manager regarding dining room status.
6. Confers with Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage regarding any food, staffing or service issues.
7. Makes morning rounds of Market, Dietary and Kitchen to check staff levels.
8. Provides coffee services for Residents' events and Administration.

OTHER DUTIES:

1. Carries Food & Beverage cell phone in the morning for call-outs.
2. Cross-trained with dietary aides.
3. Reports damage on broken equipment to Food & Beverage Director.
4. Waits tables and provides beverage and bar services as needed.
5. Participates in cost control measures.
6. Participates in food or beverage inventories as needed.
7. Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
8. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School graduate or equivalent.
2. A minimum of one year Host/Hostess or Lead Server experience within fine restaurant, club, hotel or similar institution.
3. Available 7 days a week
4. Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
5. Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with, and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors and subordinates.
