Job Description

The Inn Lounge Manager oversees operations in the Library Lounge & Bar Department at the four star/diamond-rated Inn on Biltmore Estate, assuring that all food and beverage items are served according to Inn and Forbes standards.

The Inn Lounge Manager greets guests in the Library Lounge areas; process orders and payments on POS system; handles guest issues/complaints and problem payments; executes on performance management, coaching and development for staff, as well as scheduling, hiring and training; and assisting with the budgeting and planning process. 

In addition, the incumbent provides general assistance and support for leadership, the department, and the company in any area deemed necessary. 

Essential Job Duties

1. Ensures service and quality standards are exceeded for Library Lounge & Bar by managing the daily operations of the Lounge in accordance with departmental standards which meet and/or exceed Forbes 4 star standards.
2. Ensure that requisitions, transfer slips and spill sheets are filled out; establish par levels for supplies, liquor, beer, wine and equipment.
3. Assist in the preparation and tracking of weekly forecast of revenues, covers, average
checks and labor costs; prepare weekly work schedules accordingly. 
4. Performance management, coaching and development; hiring, training, and scheduling for staff.
5. Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and maintain positive guest relations at all times.
6. Aligns operations in support of strategic planning and corporate goals; assists with budget development and recommends operational improvements.
7. Responsible for hotel beverage program to include inventory, ordering, etc.; coordinates with leadership team/culinary on inventory quality and selection.
8. Responsible for ordering/restocking product essential to the department.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
2. Various physical movements through shift; can work between 10-14 hours to include standing/walking for extended periods of time as operation demands.
3. Works indoors and outside in a variety of conditions that includes fluctuating temperatures; may be exposed to dust, dirt, pollen, chemicals, smoke, and/or other particulates.
4. Some travel may be required.
