Job description

We are a leading home services provider and we are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader who will be responsible for the overall management of Delivery Operations. The successful candidate will work to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction and production efficiencies while maintaining and constantly improving day to day delivery operations.

Responsibilities:

As a Delivery Manager, you will work directly with the customer, therefore, strong communication and customer service skills are a must. You will be responsible for the overall delivery function to include training, budgets, performance, safety, scheduling and adherence to policies and procedures.

Specific duties include:

  • Plan workloads and schedules for Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers
  • Manage on site truck fleet(s) and resources
  • Monitor delivery revenues and expenses
  • Conduct delivery, safety and reviews including riding along with drivers
  • Enforces operational procedures concerning deliveries and safe operation of the trucks and proper utilization of the personal protection equipment (PPE)
  • Knowledge of best practices on defensive driving
  • Adhere to federal/ State/ Local regulatory compliance
  • Comply with all Company Hazmat, DOT and other regulatory guidelines
  • Monitor and achieve production objectives
  • Ensure driver hours and payroll are properly tracked and reported
  • Complete all required reports and documents on a daily basis as needed in both paper and computer based environments
  • Provide customer service support as necessary; respond to customer inquiries and problems in a timely manner; resolve customer issues related to oil delivery as needed
  • Conduct performance appraisals
  • Lead drivers and dispatchers to achieve prescribed objectives; develop and maintain a productive staff through hiring, training, and professional development
  • Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, supervise, counsel and discipline subordinates
  • Resolve personnel issues as required
  • Understand and enforce Sarbanes Oxley regulations pertaining to all areas of Delivery and Terminals.
  • Maintain efficient Delivery department utilizing best practices and process improvement

Requirements:

As a Delivery Manager you must be pleasant, professional and possess the ability to function equally well in both a team environment and independently. You must also be highly detail oriented and focused with a flexible and adaptable nature. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills as well as the ability to interact effectively with both customer and coworkers.

Specific qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of current experience in transportation/fleet services, oil industry experience preferred
  • 2+ years management experience in performance management, hiring, training and coaching
  • Working knowledge of current DOT regulations and experience guiding drivers with DOT compliance/regulations
  • Possess a general knowledge of business processes such as profit, profit margins, accounting and other related principles
  • Exceptional organizational and customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and communications skills
  • A valid Class A or B commercial driver's license with tank and hazardous material endorsements, preferred
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet the company's motor vehicle policy
