Job Description
The Laboratory Development Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating comprehensive educational programs for clinical laboratory personnel across all laboratory location and sections. Thes role serves as a content expert and resource for staff orientation, competency, continuing education and professional development. The Laboratory Development Coordinator collaborates with laboratory leadership, quality management and clinical stakeholders to ensure that all personnel are proficient in current laboratory practices, regulatory compliance and emerging technologies. This role is primarily responsible for the initial and on-going training for laboratory staff. At KVH we believe "patients come first in all we do", the Laboratory Development Coordinator will help design and implement programs that demonstrate our commitment to excellence for our patients, staff and providers.
Qualifications
What is required...
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution
  • Five years of laboratory experience with a background in high complexity testing
  • Three years of previous leadership experience or experience in an educational setting providing laboratory preceptorship, education, training and staff development
  • MLS (ASCP) or MT (ASCP)
  • Current BLS card for Healthcare Provider (maintenance required)
  • Recent experience with an Electronic Medical Record system
  • Working knowledge of TJC, DNV, DOH and CLIA regulations as related to the laboratory

What is preferred...
  • Master's Degree in Laboratory Medicine (MS) or Education
  • Previous supervisory and/or department level management experience
  • Experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record system
  • Previous experience in adult education programs, including curriculum development and competency assessment tools

Additional Information
Wage: Wage range starts at $46.06/hour and goes up to $69.81/hour. Actual wage will be based on years' of applicable experience.
FTE: 1.0 = 40 hours/week
