Position Overview Section

We are seeking a highly organized and collaborative Faculty Development Coordinator to support the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) Office of the Dean. This position is responsible for coordinating faculty development, instructor qualification management, quality assurance, curriculum improvement, accreditation support, and educational program compliance across USAFSAM.

The successful candidate will work closely with course directors, instructional designers, quality assurance personnel, curriculum development managers, and leadership to ensure instructors remain fully qualified, educational programs meet accreditation requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives are successfully implemented.

Essential Job Functions

Faculty Development & Instructor Qualifications

  • Coordinate and administer the USAFSAM Faculty Development Program.
  • Maintain instructor qualification requirements in accordance with Department of the Air Force, Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), and USAFSAM policies.
  • Manage instructor credentialing and qualification records.
  • Track faculty certifications, qualifications, evaluations, and professional development activities.
  • Provide guidance to instructors and leadership regarding qualification requirements.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Program Manager, course directors, instructors, and Office of the Dean personnel to conduct Annual Course Reviews.
  • Analyze End-of-Course (EOC) survey results and develop SMART action plans for instructional improvement.
  • Monitor implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support institutional compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

Curriculum & Educational Program Support

  • Support curriculum development and course revision initiatives.
  • Assist with testing program administration for instructors and students.
  • Develop and deliver professional development training for instructors.
  • Participate in educational planning, instructional improvement, and special projects.
  • Support educational technology initiatives and eLearning best practices.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain instructor qualification tracking databases.
  • Perform data entry, troubleshooting, reporting, and analysis using institutional tracking systems.
  • Develop reports and dashboards measuring:
    • Faculty qualifications
    • Program compliance
    • Performance metrics
    • Accreditation readiness
  • Analyze program data to support leadership decision-making.

Accreditation & Institutional Support

  • Support compliance with institutional, accreditation, and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Serve as USAFSAM's liaison with the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) as directed.
  • Collaborate with colleges, universities, and military educational partners.
  • Prepare continuity documents, executive briefings, and program documentation.
  • Participate in meetings, symposiums, and professional development events.
  • Support additional education and training initiatives assigned by the Office of the Dean.
Qualifications

Minimum Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in:
    • Education
    • Instructional Design

    • Organizational Development
    • Or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing a higher education faculty development program, instructor qualification program, or quality assurance program.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams that include program managers, instructional designers, subject matter experts, and leadership.
  • Experience managing:
    • Instructor qualifications

  • Experience analyzing course evaluations and implementing continuous improvement plans.

  • Experience supporting the Department of the Air Force, Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), or Department of Defense educational organizations.
  • Experience serving as an instructor, educational administrator, or liaison within military education programs.
  • Professional certification such as:
    • Project Management Professional (PMP)
    • Program Management Professional (PgMP)
    • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • Experience conducting instructor evaluations and delivering faculty professional development.
