Overview:
ADA Accessibility Web Forms Tester (777187)
Local to Metro Atlanta GA
**MUST be a US Citizen or GC-Permanent Resident

*Tax Clearance Letter, due at the time of submission* (pls review compliance tab for instruction on how the CANDIDATE must obtain this letter)
  • Forms Tester #1 would start on or around 11/01/25 and the position would end on April 30, 2026.
    • It would be a part-time role at 4 hours per day for 6 months.
  • Forms Tester #2 would start on or around 12/01/2025 and the position would end on April 30, 2026.
    • It would be a part-time role at 4 hours per day for 5 months.

The role involves testing forms for accessibility, identifying issues, and providing remediation recommendations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of web accessibility principles and experience in identifying and documenting accessibility issues, particularly those affecting interactive form elements.
Primary Responsibilities:
โ€ข Review and test web forms across various browsers and devices for compliance with WCAG 2.1/2.2 (Levels A and AA).
โ€ข Use assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers like NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver and Adobe Acrobat) to test form accessibility.
โ€ข Identify issues related to keyboard navigation, focus order, label associations, ARIA usage, poor color contrast, and error handling in forms.
โ€ข Document and report accessibility defects clearly, referencing specific WCAG success criteria, including the severity of the issue and potential solutions.
โ€ข Providing clear and actionable recommendations for remediating accessibility issues
โ€ข Stay updated on accessibility laws, standards, and evolving best practices throughout the project.
โ€ข Document issues: Create detailed bug reports that clearly explain accessibility defects, their impact on users, and their reference to specific WCAG success criteria.
โ€ข Evaluate code: Basic understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ARIA attributes as they relate to accessible forms.
โ€ข Validate fixes: Retest defects after remediation to verify that accessibility issues have been properly resolved
โ€ข Test to ensure business logic works as expected to verify nothing changed during the remediation process.
Work with the Department of Revenue Taxpayer Services Division (TSD) team to address accessibility concerns and ensure accessibility is integrated into the form design process
Essential Qualifications:
โ€ข Minimum of two years of experience testing and or providing guidance on forms and documents to ensure compliance with ADA, 508 Regulations, and WCAG guidelines.
โ€ข Familiarity with WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines, including relevant success criteria for form elements (e.g.,
1.3.1, 3.3.1-3.3.4, 4.1.2).
โ€ข Proficiency with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, ANDI, Color Contrast Analyzer).
โ€ข Hands-on experience with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation.
โ€ข Strong communication skills and ability to document technical findings clearly.
โ€ข Excellent attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
โ€ข Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) certification from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) WAS
โ€ข IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) certification is a plus.
โ€ข Knowledge of legal accessibility requirements (e.g., ADA, 508 regulations, EN 301 549).
โ€ข Experience working in government compliance.
