JMT is seeking a Contract Support Specialist in the Orlando, FL area. The Contract Support Specialist assists in construction project related duties and exercises independent judgment to make technical decisions on the office aspects of the project. 

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist with MAC entry and review, tracking materials acceptance, progress and final estimates processing and EEO compliance
  • Track the Contractor’s progress on work performed
  • Prepare and process construction contract changes such as Work Orders and Supplemental Agreements, coordination with CEI staff and Contractor regarding project issues, maintain site source records for project compliance, etc.)
  • Assist in the development of RFP’s, LOR’s, ELOI’s or additional proposals as needed. Attend seminars and workshops to remain abreast of the latest industry developments. Other duties may be assigned as required to support the project team and corporate staff.
  • Review and manage contract documentation in Site Manager

Required Skills
  • Independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to the office aspects of the project
  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
 

Required Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

For personnel with Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management degrees:

  • No prior experience is required

For personnel without Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management degrees:

  • Four (4) years of CEI experience having performed/assisted in project related duties (i.e., Materials Acceptance and Certification (MAC) System input, progress and final estimates, EEO compliance, processing Construction Contract changes, etc.); or
  • Two (2) years of experience with 3D Modeling and CADD

Qualifications / Certifications

  • CTQP Final Estimates Level II

 Abilities / Responsibilities

  • Ability to: Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)
  • Responsible for: Exercising independent judgment in planning work details and making technical decisions related to the office aspects of the project
  • Responsible for: Familiarity with the Department’s Procedures covering the project related duties as stated above and proficient in the computer programs necessary to perform those duties
  • Ability to: Become proficient in Trimble Business Center - Heavy Construction Edition (HCE) or approved surface to surface comparison software and Engineering Menu
  • Proficiency is the knowledge and expertise to:
    • Understand which surfaces are needed from the designer
    • Understand the survey data from the field
    • Prepare the survey data as needed for use in the software
    • Generate accurate earthwork quantities from the software

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field 50% of the time. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

Work is performed within a general office environment 50% of the time. Office work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
