Job description

Broadridge is growing! We are seeking a contract Payroll Administrator in the Tri-State area to join our dynamic team based in Newark, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for processing Broadridge multi-state bi-weekly and monthly payrolls. You will act as the subject matter expert, and support HR Operations with day to day inquiries to payroll issues and questions, as well as assisting with payroll system implementation.

This is a temporary, contract role expected to last approximately 12-15 months. We are made up of high performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed. This role is considered hybrid, which means you'll be assigned to a Broadridge office and given the flexibility to work remotely.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Payroll Manager in coordinating and supporting the end-to-end processing of U.S. biweekly payrolls using ADP GlobalView, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Support the review and validation of payroll transactions, including new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, third-party sick pay, salary changes, benefit deductions, retirement plan contributions, and other employee pay adjustments.

Assist with off-cycle and manual payments in accordance with payroll procedures and applicable state requirements, taking initiative to help resolve urgent payroll matters effectively.

Support the review of severance agreements and related payments to ensure processing aligns with approved terms, internal policies, and applicable legal requirements.

Conduct peer reviews of payroll transactions completed by team members, helping identify discrepancies, improve accuracy, and maintain strong quality standards.

Partner with the Payroll Manager to support compliance with Corporate SOX internal controls, including completion of pre- and post-audit payroll checklists and adherence to established procedures.

Research and assist in resolving sophisticated and sensitive payroll and benefits-related issues, applying sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills to meet service level expectations and minimize disruption.

Assist with payroll activities, process improvements, and system changes by identifying risks, recommending solutions, and supporting execution.

Provide day-to-day guidance and support to payroll team members, helping answer questions, share knowledge, and promote consistency in payroll operations.

Support the administration of employee benefit programs as they relate to payroll, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement plans, and other voluntary deductions.

Research and assist with employee tax matters, including address validation, work and resident state taxation, and multi-state withholding requirements.

Assist handling third party sick pay and year end actives.

Assist in reviewing and processing leave of absence events, ensuring pay impacts, benefit deductions, and reinstatements are handled accurately and in accordance with company policies.

Partner with HR, Benefits, and other internal teams to help resolve employee questions related to payroll, benefit deductions, retirement plan contributions, and leave-related pay matters.

Support the review and reconciliation of payroll deductions related to employee benefits and retirement plans, helping identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Assist employees and internal stakeholders with complex payroll and benefits inquiries, using strong analytical and customer service skills to research issues and provide effective solutions.

Support special projects such as compliance reviews, system initiatives, benefit-related process enhancements, and operational improvements.

Partner with the Payroll Manager to stay informed of changes in payroll, leave, and benefits practices and assist with implementing updates to ensure ongoing compliance and operational effectiveness

Requirements:

Knowledge of ADP payroll processing is a plus

At least 5 years payroll processing experience with 1-2 years in team supervisory role.

Excellent communication skills

Team player/Multi-Tasking

Experience in handling Projects.

Requires strong knowledge of end to end payroll including time and attendance compliance and regulations

Understanding of tax regulations and ability to interpret Federal and State changes

Strong knowledge of benefit deductions and taxability rules

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent experience preferred.

The pay rate for this position is $43.00 - $53.00 per hour. Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
