The Contract Specialist  is responsible for supporting the Sales Team in the negotiation, and preparation of sales contracts.  This role prepares, drafts and negotiates contracts based on established contracts and Stratasys policies and legal requirements.  The contrac specialist will also support the Sales Team in communicating with customers' procurement representatives. 

What you will be doing:

  • Review and negotiate the legal terms of a broad range of standard commercial contracts, including purchase order terms, master agreements, confidentiality/non-disclosure, software licensing, and consulting agreements.
  • Analyze, interpret, and summarize agreements and contractual terms in a timely manner, drafting alternative clauses where necessary, and proposing redlines and creative solutions in accordance with Stratasys policies and risk tolerance parameters.
  • Review and respond to contractual terms in requests for proposals and participate, as necessary.
  • Provide responses to requests from internal clients regarding company policies, contractual issues, and risk tolerance, educate sales when appropriate on use of contract vehicles.
  • Escalate legal issues to legal counsel for further evaluation or approval when appropriate.
  • Identify, report and escalate business issues and nonstandard terms for review and approval at the appropriate level within the business in accordance with Stratasys processes.
  • Support the business flow for contracts in CLMS System from initial request through to signature.

Must have for this role:

  • 2-year degree in Research, Business Administration or Business Law or equivalent
  • 3+ years of U.S. experience in business, commercial, corporate or contract negotiation with a focus on sales and purchasing agreements
  • Knowledge of general commercial terms in purchase and sales agreements
  • 1+yrs Experience with contract drafting, customer negotiation or software agreements required
  • 2+yrs DocuSign application or similar.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Malbek Contract Management and Salesforce
  • 3+ years' experience working in-house legal team

Travel required:10%
