What is a contract manager?

Career: Contract Manager

In construction, a contract manager oversees all the contracts for a building project. These include reviewing bids, scoping, processing change orders, purchasing insurance for the site and equipment, and ensuring budget compliance across the project. You work closely with contractors, employees, and project leaders to assess the material needs of the project. You also design protocols for all the departments to follow during the course of the project. Your duties and responsibilities require you to have a strong knowledge not only of contracts but the specific concerns of the construction business as well.
