We will consider remote work within the US for this position if you are not located in the Twin Cities Metro Area.


The Procurement Lead will oversee the sourcing and procurement of PV modules and/or wind equipment for utility-scale renewable energy projects. This role is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, identifying and managing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality equipment to support project development and construction.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute a multi-year commodity procurement strategy supporting a 1 GW/year solar, wind, and energy storage project pipeline.
  • Monitor market technology trends, policy developments, and regulatory changes, and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Identify and assess supply chain risks related to renewable energy equipment and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Incorporate market intelligence and supplier insights into procurement and contracting strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams and suppliers to optimize system performance and reduce LCOE (Levelized Cost of Electricity).
  • Develop and maintain supplier strategies and relationships for PV modules and wind turbine equipment.
  • Support project management teams during both early-stage development and late-stage execution.
  • Supervise and mentor Procurement Managers and/or Procurement Specialists as applicable.
  • Develop and manage competitive RFP processes to ensure optimal supplier selection.
  • Lead and support contract negotiations, including scope, pricing, terms and conditions, delivery schedules, and change management.
  • Apply strong contracting and commercial skills, including scope development, contract editing, and monitoring commercial changes from award through delivery.
  • Review project cost proposals and actual cost reports, producing standardized cost summaries and variance analyses.
  • Track and report cost movements during negotiations and contract execution.
  • Ensure procurement agreements meet objectives related to safety, cost, schedule, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Ensure risk alignment across key project agreements (e.g., EPC agreements, equipment supply agreements, PPAs, warranties).
  • Coordinate closely with development, legal, engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, and asset management teams on all equipment supply matters.
  • Facilitate internal coordination and resolution of commercial and technical contract changes.
  • Develop and maintain supplier performance scorecards to evaluate and prioritize vendors.


Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, and contract negotiation.
  • PV module procurement experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience supporting utility-scale solar, wind, and/or energy storage development projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely explain complex concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple large contracts simultaneously, including negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy development (solar, wind, storage, dispatchable generation) is a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and effectively influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to build consensus and drive mutually beneficial outcomes with suppliers and internal teams.



Pay Range for the posted level: $ 120,000-145,000.00
