What are Consignment Managers?

Consignment Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the process of selling goods on consignment, where items are sold on behalf of their owners and payment is made only when the goods are sold. They coordinate inventory intake, pricing, display, and sales, and often act as a liaison between consignors (owners) and buyers. Their duties may include evaluating item condition, negotiating consignor agreements, and managing records of sales and payouts. Job description

Job Title: Full-Time Sales Associate / Team Member – Consignment Store
Location: San Rafael, CA
Occasional shifts: San Francisco showroom
About Us
Join a well-established, design-forward consignment showroom where every day is different, every piece tells a story, and your eye for style actually matters.
If you love interiors, enjoy working with people, and want to build a long-term career in a creative retail environment, this could be the perfect fit.
We specialize in high-quality furniture and home décor, with a strong focus on sustainability and thoughtful design. We’re proud to be a locally loved business with over 15 years of success—and a team where many members have stayed and grown with us for over a decade. This isn’t a revolving-door retail job; it’s a place to build a career.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented full-time team member to join our San Rafael location. This role blends customer service, inventory management, and hands-on work with furniture.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values presentation, organization, and creating an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist clients with purchases
  • Curate and stage the showroom floor to create inspiring, ever-changing displays
  • Lift, move, and arrange furniture throughout the showroom
  • Assist with inventorying and processing incoming consignment pieces
  • Photograph and showcase unique pieces for our online audience using Mac computers
  • Create and manage online listings for merchandise
  • Maintain organization of showroom and storage areas
  • Support daily store operations
  • Occasionally work shifts at our San Francisco showroom
You Might Be a Great Fit If You:
  • Have an eye for design, interiors, or aesthetics
  • Enjoy staying active and working with your hands
  • Like a mix of customer interaction and behind-the-scenes tasks
  • Take pride in keeping spaces organized and visually appealing
  • Are looking for a stable, long-term role—not just a temporary job
  • Bring a positive, flexible attitude and enjoy working as part of a team
Qualifications
  • Ability to lift and carry furniture (required)
  • Comfortable using Apple/Mac computers
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Friendly, professional, and customer-focused
  • Retail or consignment experience is a plus (not required)
Schedule & Compensation
  • Full-time position
  • Store is open 7 days a week — must have flexible availability, including weekends
  • Starting at $22–$24/hour + welcome bonus + performance-based raises
  • Additional individual and team bonuses offered throughout the year
Benefits
Health benefits available
401(k) with employer match
Gym or yoga studio membership support
Daily allowance for commuting employees
Opportunities for growth and advancement
After 1 year: 1 week of paid vacation
Birthday and anniversary gifts plus bonuses
Substantial employee discounts on store purchases
