As an Inside Sales Representative, you will manage a group of small customers via phone contact and support the outside sales force as needed. Grows existing customers to meet or exceed monthly sales goals within assigned territory.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Works with existing and potential customers to proactively and reactively sell products through consultative selling

  • Partners with the outside sales force to increase sales by supporting the outside staff through an established region

  • Creates and maintains accurate customer database records by entering customer calls, results and order information

  • Develops long-term repeat customer relationships

  • Acts as a liaison between the customer and internal departments such as engineering, quality, legal and operations as well as the outside sales force

  • Develops and maintains current product knowledge; maintains knowledge of market, new products or services, regulations, technical information, competition, warranties, product reliability and other general information of interest to the customer

  • Supports the sales efforts of sales management while maintaining a positive and professional relationship between the customer and Generac

  • Works with other functions, coordinates order release for shipment

  • Interacts closely with support departments regarding dealer credit and order disposition

  • Solid Product Knowledge, Strong Computer, Sales and Interpersonal Skills Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate and interact with diverse groups of people

  • Ability to meet deadlines and organize and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to collaborate professionally with peers and work toward a common goal

  • Selling techniques which include the ability to negotiate, motivate, and persuade Solid business acumen

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience;

  • 2 years' experience in sales, customer service or with a power generation OEM

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Demonstrated achievement in a direct sales role

  • Experience selling industrial or technical products

  • Experience supporting a distribution network with a technical product

  • Experience delivering presentations, conducting training and providing product solutions

  • Experience with preparing quotations and interpreting product specifications

  • Experience using SAP or equivalent ERP

  • Experience working with a CRM program

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products in a professional environment.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
