Job description

Sales Associates are responsible for greeting guests and maintaining a welcoming environment. As a sales associate, you are expected to promote product sales, process transactions, and answer guest questions. You will be well versed in Taos Sports inventory, so as to be able to direct guests to items that meet their needs. We strive for every guest interaction to have a personal touch and to make the guest feel more welcome. You will also contribute to cleanliness standards - folding t-shirts, zip/tuck/fold, face and front racks. A Sales Associate is a dynamic, outgoing person that can spread the stoke of Taos Ski Valley, Inc through every guest interaction and sale.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Interacts professionally with all guests - ensuring everyone is greeted and warmly welcomed to the store
  • Comfortable learning and operating a POS (Point of Sale) computer and software
  • Willing to learn and keep updated with TSV events, services, and other area info
  • Consciously engage in a workplace culture that is consistent with our B-Corp Ethos
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of merchandise, store layout, and restocks as necessary
  • Follows SOPs for store cleanliness and merchandising standards
  • Follow register procedures for warranties and special orders
  • Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Previous sales experience not required, but highly preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple functions simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrates experience in appropriately handling complaints and resolving grievances to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to arrive at work at scheduled time and stay until scheduled end time.
  • Ability to review financial information for accuracy and identify problem areas.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Work Environment:

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.

Physical Demands of Position Include:

80-100% of time spent standing/walking. Often lifting 10-25lbs, rarely up to 50lbs, and occasionally using a dolly is required. May spend some time sitting, and will spend some time on a POS (computer sales system).

Background Check:

Positions dealing with children, of safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check.
